  8. My first bike was a Kawi 500 Ltd. It's really a standard, but I guess some might call it a cruiser. Cruise at highway speeds no problem. You can get them for dirt cheap and they are very reliable.
  9. That would be great but I don't know anyone near me. That would be incredibly helpful. I am almost wondering if I have atypical driveline lash, which is really bad as well... http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.php/membermap/
  10. Not interested in a poll. If I think its a problem, then its a problem. If someone does not agree, then they can move along. No problem...just like I said, I haven't seen anyone mention this specifically in the three years I've been hanging around here. Not trying to discount your assessment and how it relates to YOUR bike and YOUR riding. I have been luckily blessed (or bliss through ignorance...LOL) with a stock bike (except for Erion Racing cans) that I think runs perfectly. Of course I have never owned a full on sport bike... I am just grateful that my fueling seems consistent and I haven't experienced the "surging" issue that many here have complained about. I wonder if in fact yours is a surging issue...?
  11. I'd like to see a poll and see how many folks think this is an issue. I've been active around here for 3 years and this is the first thread I've seen on the complaint...

  13. Sorry to disappoint but I can't be the first. Many other VFR owners have a steering damper for various reasons. Mine is a situation from last autumn when (luckily) on the highway, at 90 mph, I got a severe head shake due to front wheel air valve failure - the tire got almost full flat. Imagine the sensation... Lucky that the road was relatively free, strait and the truck driver I just overtook slowed down and gave me free space. The did not stop until the bike stopped. After few minutes taken to calm myself I said thanks to "Twist of the wrist" movie and it's teachings. Cheers! Well there is an easy way to find out how many here on VFRD have in fact installed a steering damper...create a thread with a poll. Your choices might be: 1. Have installed a steering damper 2. Have not and don't think it would be beneficial 3. Have not but it's on my list cause I need one! Cheers! P.S. Glad you were able to save an unintended get off at 90...that would have been potentially life threatening!
  14. I can't see your photos at work, but thanks for posting this...I have been eyeing these USB ports. I'll check out your install tonight at home. Thanks!
  15. That is just downright dishonest...not that it's a big deal, but just the principle!
  16. You could use some safety wire over the grips - one inboard and one outboard
  17. to our friend in Romania...Can't think of anyone here that has found it necessary to install a steering damper on a VFR...but from the looks of your mod list you will likely be the first.

  22. Interesting... Looks to be lots of adustability for $650 bucks...
  23. Not a bad price but does it only have one damping adjuster? Meaning both compression and rebound are all in one similar to the stock shock? Its fully adjustable, I don't think the nut you're seeing at the bottom is the adjuster, the adjustment is the two black rings stacked on top of eachother at the stop of the shock. Don't think so...looking at the Ohlins site I don't think the photo is completely accurate...it doesn't show the piggy back reservoir, the rings at the top are the usual preload adjustment. The little black rings at the bottom you can barely see are the rebound damping adjuster. Compression damping adjustment in on the piggyback reservoir. The Ohlins site says that model has one...it's also supposed to have a length adjustment. http://www.ohlins.com/Our-products-new/Motorcycle/Products/Hypersport/HO-406/ Click on the text just to the right of "Type" to get the info Wonder how much trouble it is to mount on a 6th gen with the piggyback reservoir?
