jangermann
Hi. All new here :-) Just got my VFR today, and it drives perfect. Only 6000km on the clock. When I pumping the throttle (sorry my english) it makes a strange tick sound one or two times in the moment I release the throttle. Is this normal? Hope anyone can help. Thanks. DriverDave
Just backfires in the exhaust...it gets quite a bit louder with an aftermarket slip-on.
jangermann
It sounds like a metallic sound and not as a exhaust sound. Like if you knock on the engineblock with a spoon.... but thats maybe how the backfire sounds like.
Member Contributer Mohawk Posted May 6, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted May 6, 2017 Sounds like the secondary intake flapper valve opening & closing ! Disable it & then no noise :)
jangermann
Ok. Well I really dont care about the sound as long there is nothing wrong. I guess it is ok. Thanks all.

As always, YMMV...

The manufacturers try to sex it up, but if it did what they claim they would have appeared Year said before the noise regs forced them on us !!!!! Perhaps it has something to do with intake honk but I don't believe motorcycle noise regulations have changed anyplace recently. I never noticed the sound being discussed. Then again I don't "pump" the throttle.
