Mountainrider
The VFR800 that I now own came with an exhaust system that does away with the catalytic converter. I also have the stock system . What are the opinions on doing away with the converter ? Will the bike lose some of it's torque ? It does have a power commander installed. Member Contributer 3dcycle Posted December 30, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted December 30, 2016 can we get a picture of it. many different types out there. some are better than others. depends on what exhaust it is. if its two brothers or erion, I will buy it from you, cheap of course they are not worth anything :)
Mountainrider
I am thinking it may be off a gen 5. So Pete must have read somewhere that you could put the Gen 5 on the gen 6. I could be wrong but it looks factory to me with an HM number on it.
CandyRedRC46
That looks like a factory 98/99 header. Don't worry about the cat, it doesn't have any thing to do with making torque. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Mountainrider
I got all my exhaust gaskets and seals yesterday so now I am ready to move along. I will have to use the stock mufflers for now. Just do not have the extra money at this time.

Looks stock, sounds better and looz wait. win win win
Mountainrider
We got the exhaust on this evening and even though I drilled a hole through the inside of the mufflers it was still quiet. I am thinking about getting two small car mufflers and getting a muffler shop to make pipes for it.

Mountainrider
It is close to being finished still need the inner fairing pieces. Just had to take a break from spending money. Should get back on track next month. She runs great and that was my main concern since she had been setting so long. With only 5000 mile on her she is still new. Mountainrider
I am waiting on one more piece and it will be finished. It is going to be nice. I cannot wait for the first ride then it's off to the dyno.
