Member Contributer aristo Posted March 7, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted March 7, 2016 Hi guys I have bought racetech fmgv s2040g valves and s3732 springs for forks rear shock is jamies 600 conversion. My question is that in all my searches here the valves I see don't seem to match what I was sent. Here are pics of what I have if someone could identify them as correct I will be relieved. Member Contributer Terry Posted March 7, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted March 7, 2016 Definitely a RaceTech product by the colour and finish, the porting is quite different from the RT and DMr valves that I have seen before but that doesn't mean much, it does look like a later G2 design. If the diameter is correct (20mm more or less) then they ought to be OK. They only have slim o-ring grooves not the wider grooves for a piston ring, so they're definitely a compression valve body. The last RT product I bought came in a plastic bag not a box, I think they've slimmed down their packaging quite a bit. If I were you, I'd dive right in! You may read in the installation instructions about drilling a low-speed bleed in the side of the valve. I don't believe this is necessary for a 6th gen VFR as the mounting post for the valve has a hole bored through it that will allow oil to bypass the valve. Member Contributer VFROZ Posted March 7, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted March 7, 2016 That is deffinetly a very strange looking valve, and I can't say I've seen one like that before. I'm not sure how the bypass works from looking at those pictures. But you did order the G2R valve, not the standard gold valve.
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted March 7, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted March 7, 2016 My VF500F2 RT front fork emulators look like this, but they have no cartridge to begin with:
