Model Grouping

Don't sweat it so much!!

It's just an organic, spontaneous, viral designatory evolution as new models come out. Honda designated it a VFR... then that's good enough. The world will not end if subsequent versions of the 800 & 1200 are released simultaneously. They (the 'mericans) will come up w something.

Not need to insult people with derogatory language... it just happened that way and it's part of what makes languages and life curious And interesting... Sometimes getting overly scientific is synonymous with boring.

We won't be solving any of life's mysteries like Darwin or Linnus.

Can't see why you even give a flying "if you see Kay"... You're not even in the USA!!!

Is it so complex it's impossible to understand or follow? Hardly!!!

Does it really matter?? Not at all!!!

And where is the official source that proves VFR ever really stood for "V Four Racing"? Has that been proven? (Not related to OP's post).

Where and when was it demonstrated that the 1200 is not really a VFR, and by whom?? Proof please cause as far as I know the people who designed and built it put the VFR badge on hundreds of thousands of these bikes. Who owns the patent on this bike?? Honda. So arguing whether it is a VFR is a mute point. And more to the point who owns the patent on the generational nomenclature adopted by fans and owners in the US? No one!!! Try changing a spontaneously designated term generated by no one in particular but adopted by everyone in general years after the bomb dropped and you sir should receive the next Nobel Prize for unprecedented making of friends and influencing people!!

UK: bangers

Australia: snags

US: sausages

Change that and you shall be elevated to God status!!

In the end it's just easier to say "7th Gen" than to say " 2010 thru 2014 Honda VFR 1200 F". And soon enough after the first press leaks of a new model we all know what someone means when they say it.
