Third Gen Spark Plug

Recommended Posts

Riders!

As the snow melt, and sun is shining I just want to ride my 3th gen "Red October". I need to change the spark plugs, as It couldn't start, and I checked, two of them is quiet weak. I changed once from CR8EH8 to CR9EH9, as the guy in the shop sad that would be better.

What is the truth, is "9" better than "8" for this bike?

I'm getting familiar with the Iridium ones. Any suggestions?

It's not. The CR9s are too cold and will foul very soon. Often it is better to stick with what the engineers from Honda (and/or spark plug manufacturers) recommend, and not some person behind a counter that wants to sell you whatever he has in stock. Get the regular plugs or the iridium plugs e.g. NGK CR8EH-9 or NGK CR8EHIX-9

I don't know what the situation is in Hungary, but here the shops charge astronomical prices for Iridium plugs: >30€ for a single plug!. For that price I bought a set of four online.

I was watching in the ebay for 30EUR for a 4pieces set of Iridum with postage costs. Here I can buy them for approx 45EUR. I think I have my vote for the Iridium ones.

As you said V4Rosso, now I see why my spark plugs got wrong in 10000kms.

Thanks guys!
