Just back after an epic cornerfest in the Ardennes and Eiffell areas of Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg.

I'd been watching the weather all week as it had been lashing down rain and seemed that we were into a bad period, but i saw a gap in the clouds on friday morning and went for it. Got over to my pal Mario's in dusseldorf on friday night and then made a break for the Ardennes forest on saturday morning.

I think because the weather had been bad it put a lot of people off so on saturday we had the place pretty much to ourselves, only the odd biker out there. We got in some fast runs over the high roads in the area and i learned a bit about how to corner in the valleys. I live in east flanders which is as flat as a pancake so the only corners are motorway exits and tyres here are generally square as a rule.

We did the Ardennes through Belgium and luxembourg (best roads ever!!!) down as far as Bastogne on saturday, with a trip back up through the whole lot again back to dusseldorf for some Schumacher Alt beer as a reward. Then today we did the Eiffel area but changed over into Belgium again as it was over-run with BMW Gs riders in convoy today and very boring.

Saw some Great old German Tanks in the villages, visited the US army monument in Bastogne and melted a new edge on my Pirelli tyres.

Great weekend!

Knackered!!!

I ride/camp that area every summer. Just love it there. In fact, my entire wife's family, minus us will be in Malmedy this weekend.

Dont you love the hairpin-sweeper-plateau-village-sweeper-hairpin combination?
