Guest none
My VFR 6th gen clock and meter were resetting these few mornings. Bike was able to crank but cranking was a longer than usual and weak. Meter and clock reset after the weak crank. Take the battery off to charge using a battery tender. Next morning having 12.6V readout. Bike idling with no lights 13.9V Bike idling with pilot lights 13.2-13.5V Bike idling with headlights 12-12.6V Bike running at 4-5k rpm with 2 x philips 55/60w headlights 12.8-13.3V Bike running at 4-5k rpm with 2 x philips 55/60w headlights, occasional signal light and brake 11.2-11.8V Are these healthy voltages? What's causing the reset?

Guest
Now the FI is acting strangely. When running, the FI will show up and the engine dies. Half clutch to get the engine started again. Happens twice on a 10km journey.
Member Contributer jeremy556 Posted May 29, 2007 Member Contributer Share Posted May 29, 2007 You have a charging issue for sure, probably R/R, connection issue, or stator. With headlights/brights on at 5500 RPM you should get 13.4-14.8 volts. There is a How-To Guide for diagnosing charging issues in the How-To Guide section of this forum.
