Convertibars for 7th gen... or any better risers?

Yahya

Question

As the title says, I'm trying to get Convertibars, but anybody knows whether they are still in business?

I contacted them through email and Facebook, but have no response. I worried if I place order but will not get the stuff/take too long to be processed. Per my experience, shipping only from US to middle east can take 1 month.

I see a clear advantage of Convertibars is its adjustability. But I am also considering Apex, ABM, Helibars, Hurricane, or Moto-CNC risers. Any thoughts about them? Any long-term reviews?

Thanks.

Many options including Woodcraft. I'm running Helis on my '98 and have a set for the '00 that I haven't installed. yet. That has the set from Belarus...pre-war edition on it.

Very tall may require rerouting or new hoses/cables. Ones that only lift won't let you alter the angles. Using the stock bars won't let you rotate the levers to the proper spot. They're all options, but full adjustable give you the most options. The Helis are a big improvement, but a far cry from perfect.

Helpful?

Each to their own i love my Helibars on my 1200. They're not perfect but better than oem for me. We are all different sizes and shapes so what suits one won't necessity suit another.

Good luck with your search.

Agreed, a lot of reviews from different people with different sizes and shapes. Some say Helibars fits well, some are not.

On my 1200 the limit on bar height and angle are the cables and the front fairing at full lock.  I have Helibars and they are a definite improvement, but it took every bit of the available envelope to get it.  Could use another inch in height...story of my life.

I wished for Convertibars for its serious adjustability, but I don't like to lose my time if they are gone for good. Their emails are bounced, and still no Facebook replies, so I would not risk to check-out.

Since the others are hit-or-miss to fit my body, I decided to go for Hurricane handlebar kit. I see some good reviews from Japanese users, although its the 8th gen, but I'm expecting not much difference with the 7th gen (?).

The product says 40mm up, 0mm back, 680mm total width, with stock cables (Helibars is 50mm up, 25mm back, and 673mm width).

The good thing is it is much cheaper than the others (US$207 Hurricane vs US$359 Helibars vs US$348 ABM), and it comes with pre-machined switch holes.

I'll give some updates once the product is arrived and installed.

That's the one.  I've done 3 huge cross country trips with that setup, love it

I don't know if you caught the note on your kit's Webike product page.  You will need different bar ends if all you have is the stock Honda ones.  The ID of the Hurricane bar is a bit less (they're using a thicker wall tubing) than the Honda clip-ons, so thinner bar ends are needed.

I caught it before, but thanks for the reminder. I'm less worried as I'm not using stock Honda bar ends anyways. I'm using an universal 30 oz bar ends kit, which came with multiple 4 plug types (Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha/Suzuki, and universal plug). I'm expecting to be able to use the universal plug. We'll see.

For anyone wondering, I still have no response from Convertibars.

Also, I made a separate post for my Hurricane handlebar kit setup here:
