Carbs off and apart Looks like someone had glued the float chambers to the crabs as one failed and started to leak So got new, as all O rings as well The fuel line could be updated to Sadly was not my day, of the rubbers for float chambers 2 where good but 2 slightly smaller, didn't work out So tomorrow to get a new kit.... keny Posted April 11 Author Share Posted April 11 Some updates on my bikes, the Bandit as XT The Bandit has now fresh fork seals as oil, legs slides ~10mm up to compensate for the 120/70 front tire as 120/60 is original size Also did bleed both brakes whit fresh brake fluid as it was quite dark looking and did change engine oil as the crabs had flooded to be safe, as I had oil at home. Was windy as a bit colder today so first ride planned for tomorrow! XT350, carburetors back together and back on bike Also the tank paint damage repaired for now, maybe a full respray next winter? keny Posted April 12 Author Share Posted April 12 Today season opened The Bandit was a positive surprise, ok the aftermarket can a bit louder to my taste but that's easy to fix. Rides good, engine more flexible than I had believe, no sky rocket but still fun. Well it's still ice on local lakes And you had to take it easy as roads partly covered whit light gravel from winter that has not been taken from the road yet Also a add to garage today, 2 wheels as electric engine that assist as you pedal A Yamaha moro07 30th anniversary model. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

keny Posted April 14 Author Share Posted April 14 Got the rebuild kit for brake master cylinder, old out, new in Then XT finally going together, Handel bar weighs on as orginal grips, the air scoops on as tank, front brake bleeded, painted exhaust on Don't know if you notice but the front tire has been changed, as I bought new the shop only had size 80/90-21 in stock, orginal size is a not so common 3.00-21, the rim is only a 1.60 so to small for a 90/90-21 that needs a 1.85 wide rim. But the 80/90-21 is quite a bit smaller than the orginal 3.00-21, even the 90/90 is slightly smaller in outer diameter. But then I found one selling orginal takeoffs from a Yamaha WR250R, 80/100-21 is its size, and its very close in size to the original 3.00-21! So as I got a new tire that just been on rim, well ridden home 20ish kms for 30€ I could not resist, it's a Bridgestone TW301, had before on my Tenere 600, know it's ok rubber. And this picture is after having it running for a while, needs some final touches as carburetor's off one more time as tube between primary as secondary carb is slightly leaking. keny Posted April 21 Author Share Posted April 21 The XT350 has now the small fuel tube between primary and secondary carb changed So it's ready for a test ride, need to get a insurance for it that is surprising costly for this model sadly. Also the fact that winter has strike back where I live also delay a test ride I have ordered a new license plate for it also, the old one is cracked So next I thought I should give the FJ some love, but there came up a issue straight away As you si in the picture the fork upper has a unique fasting, you need a 27mm alien key to open then, biggest I had was a 25mm... As I have mixed feeling for the FJ, and don't know if I just should list it as I get it running, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a tool. So a friend will weld (as I don't have a weld device) this socket to a bolt whit 27mm head to make a tool. So have to wait... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The old where no good anymore, even the plastic dip paint treatment didn't help, only worked for a day. Costly parts, OEM list price ~150€ each!, aftermarket parts locally in shop ~100€ each, managed to score these from ebay for 320€ for 4, and they are OEM mikuni ones! Have to say was quite tricky to get the needle plate in place as there is a spring under it to hold needle down, other a straight forward jobb. A guy I know on the Canarian islands have ridden many years whit his repaird this way, he has a FJ1200..... keny Posted Wednesday at 07:33 PM Author Share Posted Wednesday at 07:33 PM The FJ is alive, started good, didn't run that good at lower rpm at first but did start run better, did a Sync that might have helped. Insurance is on from tomorrow so will do a spin on it, hopefully starts tu run better. It's been sitting almost 2 years, carbs been dry thro. However definitely have to many motorcycle's, so it's also listed. I had a few plans for it, but will not ba made, limited time as funds and just want to put all efforts on my RC24 VFR750 Ashame in one way but you can't have it all, and enjoying the Bandit 600 very much, only like to find a OEM muffler/silencer for reasonable money, the current aftermarket one is to loud for my licking, I guess I'm getting old 😅 3 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
keny Posted 1 hour ago Author Share Posted 1 hour ago Well, eventually the FJ is not running as should, and even seems to ride a bit better at times decided I needed to pull carbs off to check, as aside the diagram issue it did run great 2 years back So decided to try the XT350 Did take it to work this Friday, Fortnite a short ride. Well a issue came up. First the front brake is not as good as should, second as I did go on lunch noticed something has leaked under it, turn's out the oil filter cap is leaking for some reason. Have to check out why. It hade been sealed whit some silicone aside the O ring before, have to look into reason. Hopefully nothing major. Might try fresh brake pads for the front brake.
