  1. I've decided to call her My Lady, or M'Lady.
  2. ...falls mainly on the plain. So I went into the hills...
  3. Hahaha Dutchy... my 6'4" and almost half century just aren't made for such torture racks anymore.... but I may one day get back on track... (Honda VFR800 VTEC takes on BMW KT1200, among others)....
  4. Spain is an awesome country for motorcycling... good weather (most of the year round) and mountain ranges galore. I can get from Murcia to Valencia in 2 and a half hours on the tollway but if I choose the twisty mountain roads I could take all day, hardly see another vehicle (nor police car) and wear out a set of knee sliders. Grew up in QLD. North QLD to be exact which hast the Gillies, Kuranda, Palmerston and Julaten highways and little else. Then it's straight down the Bruce highway all the way to Brisbane for two-three days. For some perhaps the Alps in Europe are more breathtaking but you can't ride almost all year round on them like you can in (most of) Spain's mountain ranges. Don't talk to me abouthe Picos de Europa. Thorn in my side. Went to do them in April 2018 on my way back to Spain after a couple of years working in England and got off the ferry in Santander, slipped on some mud while taking a photo (not even on the bike). Grabbed the handlebar on my way down and brought the 215Kg Triumph Tiger down on my ankle, breaking the Tibia (ankle). Yet I will return one day... I once spent two weeks in the Pyrenees going through two sets of tyres and wow what scenery, there are even glaciers you can hike to in the highest parts. Basque country, Aragon, Navarra, Catalonia. That's three different languages and many more dialects. Non-stop curves. Even did some bits twice but reversing the loop the roads make. Oh plus I have the MotoGP Ricardo Tormo Racetrack at Cheste, Valencia, another smaller one at Cartagena, another nice racetrack in the Tabernas Desert close to Almería and then there's a small one at Albacete.... all within a 3 hour radius on all sides... from my home in Murcia... although I'm currently 20 minutes away from the Catalonian MotoGP track, Montmeló for work reasons. we used to head there every spring, early summer for a 24 hour race they hold there and camp in a small pine forest up the top of the hill!!
  5. Did you go through Dum Dum to cross over into Qld and then Springbook or Lamington NPs and past the Hinze dam? Or via O'Reilly's and Canungra?
  6. I did mention Thurn to the person interested ... even had a quick look on their website and didn't see it, but I didn't dig very deep... If I understand their catalogue right they have 2 left at the moment (last column in their pdf catalogue indicates 2 but the heading is an abbreviation HR / DD, in German / English... I had searched for the sidestand cover and they have it as a kickstand cover!! D'oh!! 53 Euros a piece.
  7. Like sands through the hourglass... so, are the days of our lives....
  8. Sorry. Old account previous two posts. Can't seem to get on with Tapatalk with my Auspanglish moniker
  9. G'day, long time no write fellow VFR geeks!! I've spent the last hour going through oh, umpteen search results looking for a thread on how to DIY your own 3rd gen sidestand cover as they are no longer available from OEM part stores and rarer than rocking horse poo on ebay etc. Was there not a thread by someone who fabricated their own? If there was can someone pretty please (with a VFR on top) provide me with a link? If not, I wonder if Seb has ever thought of CDCing or 3D printing one or otherwise looked at providing these as a product, just as with his clear cluth covers??? Bueller? Thanks in advance and do keep the rubber side down!!
  10. ...but you din't lend it out for the Bad Boys for Life movie, did ya? LOL
  11. Thanks The Dutchy... I'll pass your wisdom on (not my bike)... I'll report back on developments!
  12. Dutchy, long time no chat... You had a 4th gen... what say you?
  13. Like I said on FB, I'd call you a pro if it weren't for the sexual connotations... Sublime is the word
  14. Sorry, hands full with maintenance and no time to revise the forum for info. How many turns out of the carburettor mix screw are you guys finding works on the 4th gen? Manual appears to indicate 1 - 5/8 but ain't doin' it for her. Gotta another 4th gen purring at 3.5 turns out. Maybe the issue lies elsewhere and the difference in turns outward of the adjuster screw is due to age of certain parts. Many thanks in advance for any VFR advice or wisdom!!
