  2. Being out in the open and getting caught in a storm is a lot different than watching one out the living room window. Lovely photo.
  3. Oh, I do hope you have something planned to sparkle up your wheels ;-) All that effort with the bodywork is let down by their black finish, imnsho. Motorcycle News Australia have this Vtec VFR in almost the identical colour: http://www.mcnews.com.au/Testing/Honda/2010_VFR800/VFR800_Review.htm

That's just another summer day on the California. At least, that's what I see every July leaving Monterey ;-(

The seat looks red hot - no wonder you stopped for a picture ;-P
  6. Looks like a beautiful day for a bike ride. I'm curious about the yellow bracing - is it original, modern, or done sometime between?

Lovely shots of a great ride. The bikes might be mismatched but I bet it was still a lot of fun. It looks like you stayed at Antlers Lodge in Cooke City, Mt. - I love that place.

My notes say ~10 minutes @ f4 on K64, painting the VFR with a maglight. I was on my way home from the '94 Moto GP at Laguna Seca, my first long trip by bike. It was after midnight and I was far to tired to carry on. I could have stayed in Kayenta but decided to press on - not a good idea as there was no vacancy in Mexican Hat, Bluff, or Blanding. Plus, Monument Valley is tough to see after dark :-(

Thanks, dado. Nevada is one of my favourite states to ride. The terrain is just so different from my neck of the woods.

Thanks, Brian. Btw, there's a decent little cafe near the eastern end of NV722 - the Toiyabe Cafe in Austin.

This is mid-way along a stretch of Nevada Hwy 375 that is dead straight for 25 miles. Gives you lots of time to check your speedo accuracy. Though back in the stone-age of '94 it was with a stop watch, notebook, and mileposts.

  13. Very cool photo. I'm guessing it is an evening shot taken in the middle of Nevada. I've taken a few centreline shots but never of myself sitting on the pavement. After a fright a few years back I now remove helmet and earplugs ;-)

In 2007 I attended one of Reg Pridmore's CLASS days at Infineon and it was a blast. A sunny mid-May track day in NorCal is damn hard to beat. photo used with permission, credit: Ian Donald - http://iandonald.com/

In the fall of 2004 I bought this '92 VFR. It had about 40K km then and when I took this shot in early '07 that was up to 70K. By then I had stripped the paint from the fork legs, repainted the wheels from the original silver, fitted the UK market graphics, and added the very same Supertrapp can I'd had on my '91 10 years before. After 4½ years and 55K km I sold it and bought my 3rd VTR1000F. I see a pattern forming.

In 1998 I jumped back to the VFR fold with this brand new VFR800. Resprayed wheels improve visual and a Yoshimura RS3 helps unleash the aural. Unfortunately this bike met an untimely end when it was stolen less than a year, and 25K km later.

After taking this shot on SR62 I realized I was still wearing earplugs - oops. Near joshua Tree NP. I bought this, my first VFR, in 1993. Only two years old with less than 4000km. After adding another 90K km over the next four years I sold it and bought my first - of three - VTR1000F.

If a bike/car looks good in white, as your's does, then they got the shape right. But I think the wheels let it down. Any thoughts on changing their colour?
