  1. Umm, that is a well done set of mods on this VFR. What exhaust headers are those? I got rid of my passenger pegs also, but that rearset is very nice. Where is it from?
  2. Yeah, it’s a real rust-bucket.
  3. These bolts will certainly fit and they are inexpensive. The downside is the small head diameter of 9.5 mm. The stock and SS versions (that I ordered and installed) measure 13.5 mm. So, the low cost version from Belmetric will have a different appearance and not spread the fastening load over as large an area.
  4. I had some rusty fairing bolts and wanted to find a 300 series Stainless Steel version. This is a before and after photo. They are nice. 2 weeks for delivery from the UK and over 2 dollars/each. But, they are very pretty. I bought ten and will probably order ten more. I am in no way affiliated with the seller. Source was eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/10x-Honda-Fireblade-Motorcycle-Fairing-Bolts-M5-x-20mm-Stainless-Pan-Button-Head/131246019644?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  5. You can get this bracket from Delkevic shown below that works with a high mount (right side). This is what I run. I did some disk grinder work on my left passenger assembly to get rid of the foot peg mount but retained full functionality of helmet lock and seat release.
  6. Looking for this type of weather soon.
  7. A quick glance shows my rear pads are due for replacement after about 10K miles. The fronts don't look as worn. Is this typical? Thanks
  8. Finally, finally, Pedrosa is gone from the factory Honda MotoGP team. It was long overdue, perhaps 10 years or more. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how Lorenzo does on the Honda. You may have guessed...I am not a Pedrosa fan. Yes, I still remember 2006. I am bad about holding a grudge...little f-er...good riddance.
  9. Thanks for all of the great help from the international group. It is input like this that makes VFRD great! This is not a great photo but suffice to say it turned out very well and was able to ride the bike today in good weather here in SE Indiana.
  10. Alas, she is out. It can come out without removing the rearset, but is tight and will be fun to get back in. It will be cleaned-up and re-painted black again. Thanks for all the help, gents.
  11. Yes, that worked after removing the rear wheel and pipe to fit the clamping needle-nose plyers in. The Heat Shield is physically no longer bolted-in, however I still cannot get it out from behind the rearset assembly. Lovely.
  12. I want to re-finish my Heat Shield on the right side of the bike. I want to remove it. It is attached to the footpeg assembly. There is one square nut on the back side of the heat shield that I cannot get to for the life of me. I'm thinking I need to remove the entire footpeg mount assembly since I cannot get to the square nut. Any hints? Thanks
  13. Great looking 5th Gen. Looks a lot like mine. I want that seat.
  14. I'm 55 and have owned a VFR of some sort since I was 35. I have owned Gen 4's and 5's. Best motorcycles for the money, ever.
