  1. Including the license plate light...I lost my headlights and dash due to a short from the wire rubbing through the insulation
  2. Funny, when I want back to the scene of my pothole I didn't have any measuring device, so I bought and used an Arizona glass bottle for reference... Damn thing swallowed 90% of the bottle.
  3. If you don't have V-blocks, then you can remove the front wheel (with the front of the bike supported) and if you want stick the axle loosely back through the forks to keep the lower tubes from spinning. Then loosen both tree pinch bolts on one fork at a time and just spin the Upper tubes in the trees, if the fork tube is bent you can just watch as the bottom (axle) end of the fork moves around. If the tube is straight the bottom won't move off center line, if it is it will move around off center as you spin the upper tube. Now check other tube. :fing02: Great idea! I'll descend into the man cave to try this and that. Oh, btw, here is the culprit: This monster is 1/2 beer cans deep. I wanted to put them inside for perspective, but this road is too busy and too dangerous. I was travelling in the direction of the shot here, so I got the worst of it. Ouch!
  4. You're welcome to come swap out your front wheel for mine (temporarily ). Seems that would be a fairly quick and cheap way to rule out tire/wheel issues. Of course, I don't have a scissor jack or piece of wood for supporting the headers. I might be headed to Brooklyn (near grand army plaza) for brunch on Sunday, if you haven't gotten it figured out by then I may be able to drop off my bike for a bit. LMK
  5. You should have taken Friday off... My insurance company managed to get 70% back from the city when my bike was nearly swallowed by a massive pothole. Granted, I almost got arrested for trying to take pictures of a pothole which had existed for months, according to the officer taking the report, but was filled only two days after said picture incident and spent weeks unsuccessfully trying to obtain a copy of the police report which "must have been left in the officer's jacket"... Good luck with that... :fing02:
  6. Stop smoking pot in the garage...
  7. The best price of the PP=$135 " " " " road2=$169 If anyone knows of a less expensive price let me know. Based on your #s, your looking at a 25% cost increase, so a simple miles/dollar analysis would expect a 25% mileage increase to break even. So 5k would be your break even point. This is of course an oversimplification. Using your cost #s and estimated mileage (4k/135, 6k/169) your looking at ~ 29.63 miles per dollar for the PP and ~ 35.50 miles per dollar for the PR2...
  8. My bet is it's in your head. That being said, I did bend my front wheel and bust my linkage on a pothole in NYC on my 2000.
  9. Kneedraggers currently has the one-piece Forza for $349 and the two-piece for $325. Definitely a good deal.... Kneedraggers AGV suits
  10. Similar thing happened to me not too long ago, except it was an inattentive pedestrian I was avoiding and it wasn't technically a freeway. Picked the bike up, apologized for dropping her, made sure everything looked straight and lofted the front a little to make me feel better.
  11. I drink and shop impulsively, but don't ever feel the urge to combine the two. Maybe I should drink more. Kneedragger has some reviews, if these are the samw
  12. sure enough, thanks!

  15. It's May next week.... I think I'm cursed... not only is this kit having supplier problems.. my 660 still hasn't arrived yet either! supplier problems??
  16. I don't see one in my 6th gen service manual. Just says "Install the right crankcase cover, wire clamp and tighten the bolts in a criscross pattern in 2 or 3 steps."

    Voltmeter

Isn't that backwards? I thought LED draws far less power than LCD. If you look at today's TVs the new ones are going LED and touting the reduction in power usage.
  18. Hmm... Was this shamelessly ripped from that NOS energy drink thread? Perhaps it was a coincidence.
  19. Yup, definitely. Have done it dozens of times before replacing my last battery. The best, wish I had a camera moment, was one time I got pulled over by a van load of cops mulling about on the corner to "verify my paperwork was in order" Stupid me left the key on while they took their sweet time. After they let me go with a ticket for failure to produce insurance card, I had to ask them for a push. They didn't want to and said they were only giving it one shot. I sat on the bike while two cops in uniform ran behind me pushing my bike!!! priceless
  20. $780. Ouch
  21. I've heard, while nice, they don't compare to the GIVIs. For $76 more you could have two E460s and the FZ166 tubular side rack. It also gets you 4L additional capacity per bag. What's up with the turn signals on that rack?

  24. Set it on fire and try again? Sorry couldn't resist. It's a 6.xx gen, wish I could help...
  25. My guess is too many, 8 small cartridges. This place cames two 45 gram carts will fill any road tire. I have one of these tire inflators which I think someone (HS?) did a write up on. Took a bit 15 mins with intermittent rest to avoid overheating IIRC... Found his write-up here
