  1. Yep, I put some near new BT023’s on my 6th gen which I picked up cheap off a riding buddy. On the edge of the tyre it feels like I’m riding on marbles with the back end flapping around like a gut hooked snapper. Very disconcerting. I’ll be going back to Michelin Pilots and no more from Mr Bridgestone thanks very much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. The 4th gen 750 is damn impressive. Looks like the pick of the bunch Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. 2010 model. I have a love hate relationship with this bike. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I had that problem too. I just used a larger holesaw and had no problems.
  5. Just done the outer holesaw followed by the inner dremel trick. It's let the loud out. Kick ass!
  6. Firstly, I'm thinking price would be a benefit. Also, you are altering things at a fundamental level, rather than taking those set fundamentals and "trimming" them. You can potentially do much more than you can with a Power Commander.
  7. It is simply a symptom of an over regulated fuel injection system designed for economy and emissions. All the 6th gens behave like that in standard trim. I had a 3rd gen which is carburettored and it would pull smoothly from idle in any gear. I had a 5th gen which, while injected, ran smoothly below 3000rpm also. The 6th gen is a different beast which requires a few mods to get it smoothed out. Once you get it smoothed out you will find the fuel economy not as good.
  8. I would PM or email Don Guhl directly to see if he can take you up on your offer... this project doesn't directly affect me but I would love to see the 6.5 gen ECU hacked and programmed... opens up a whole new world of possibilities! Oh I'm not offering my bike... the shipment cost from Australia to the US would negate the benefit :) I'm just hoping he has found a bike to practice on cause I would love to have my fuelling sorted.
  9. I'm interested. I have a 2010 6 gen which is bog stock and has the standard rubbish fueling. Very abrupt throttle response at low revs. Vtec transistion is not so bad but if it could be made smoother, that would be cool. I'll be watching this space. Hope you have found a 'mule' Don!!

  11. That would be cool. That would be VERY cool. He is a heck of a nice guy and very down to earth. I wish him all the best, but I fear his best years are behind him in terms of getting the best out of a motorcycle. I would love him to prove me wrong.
  12. Chain driven VTEC is so good they put on the 1200 Oh wait... The reason I prefer gear driven is I owned a Gen 1 back in 83. Gears don't stretch, don't need adjusting or tensioning, and sound great. VTEC is technology for the sake of technology and brings no useful benefit other than an interesting transition. It was added to solve a problem that never existed. It adds complication. I prefer simplicity. Not the least for servicing costs. Having said that, I would buy a 2014 model in a heartbeat if I could get it past my financial controller.
  13. I get heat coming out of the 2 vent holes in the frame toasting the underside of my thigh. Not too bad in winter though!
  14. I'll keep an eye out for you. Welcome!
  15. Honda Australia still list it on their website. Available in black and titanium. Nothing about DCT. But that doesn't mean anything.
