  1. Check that your fan mount isn't bent. My fan was grinding against the radiator after my last crash. Bending the fan mount a bit gave the fan enough clearance to spin freely again.
  2. I'm still on the original tensioners at 66k miles. You may want to pick up a spare stator, as they tend to go out at around 50k. I've had to replace mine twice already.
  3. I use them front and rear on my '02. My last set of rear pads lasted 14k miles of mostly urban riding.
  4. Check your charging voltage too. Stators tend to go out around 50k miles.
  5. They work fine. I've gone through 3 sets now due to dropping or crashing my 6th gen. The paint starts to oxidize after a few years, but you can't beat the price.
  6. Bending them back works fine. Just be sure to bend the carrier, not the rotor. You must also have a dial indicator to find the high spots.
  7. Well, it's happened again. Almost 4 years and 17k miles later, my sidestand bolt has gotten away again. I guess I'll drop by Orchard Supply and pick up another bolt after work. I'll try red loctite this time instead of blue. Edit: Found the bolt on my garage floor. Reinstalled with red loctite. Squirted a bit of cyanoacrylate around the bolt head for good measure.
  8. http://www.bikebandit.com/tires-tubes/motorcycle-tires/pirelli-diablo-supersport-motorcycle-tire-set?u1=4fca9ca6b59711e592a30eb8110bee850000&id=lw9MynSeamY Saw this deal online. Any opinions on these tires?
  9. Your bike's previous owner probably had the AC Generator Update performed. Check for punch marks on the VIN plate. 10. Since we're bumping old threads, I might as well throw in my data point. I recently replaced both front and rear: PR2 Front: 18,842 miles PR3 Rear: 17,325 miles Mostly freeway commuting in the San Francisco Bay Area. Rears were down to the wear bars in the middle with a bit of meat left on the sides, and the opposite was true of the front. Replaced them with PR4s front and rear.
  11. You'll need two.
  12. Are you sure it's oil and not a mixture of coolant, dirt, and chain lube?
  13. From the data you posted, I see no reason why your bike shouldn't start. I would look elsewhere. Check your air filter, perhaps.

  15. I think that's a drain for the "valley" between the two cylinder banks. You have a coolant leak somewhere that is pooling in the area under the throttle bodies.
