  1. Yea - sounds like if you have a VFRness and an R/R, then you've obviously encountered some electrical issues. I would check all the simple stuff like connections and quality of connections. If you have a poor, loose, dirty connection somewhere, it's effecting everything else. Have you popped a volt meter on your battery and done basic diagnostics to make sure you are putting the right power out etc?
  2. This is awesome! I'm investing some time looking into this stuff. Can you expound a little bit about any issues you encountered? I think this is a fantastic solution opposed to repainting the whole bike! Thanks for sharing! JWS
  3. I hear the Calendar Calling! GREAT shot and hope you had fun!
  4. Or none of the above - the bike will adjust to run idle to get hot so if you let the beast get cold, the beast get angry.....Let the beast get hot and all will be good. Let it warm slow on idle for a while (+10 mins) then shut it off, give it a few, and then restart. you will be fine. It's the way they setup the computer. When it reads cold air cold temp it will always idle high.
  5. Damn, that is a frickin awesome shot. Calendar or Nat Geo! Great job.
  6. I agree that the Bilt stuff is crap and I don't know why in the world anyone would sacrifice that kind of protection for price. That is my main concern. CG's Sedici brand seems to be a little bit better but the more looking I am doing, the more I am leaning towards a Joe Rocket suit separates or something equivalent.
  7. This is fantastic and very helpful - thank you - I still think I am going to try and run matched PR3's - I just may have to ride with Wrestler a bit more but I know I will get the mileage!
  8. Dutchy - you are a mess. Are you serious about the Pilot Power versus the Pilot Road?
  9. HA - sorry, I'm watching the Nationwide Series Race. Michelin PR3
  10. Good afternoon VFRD peoples. It has been some time since I've been active but tis the season to dust off the quip, and get ready to hit the roads. SO After I had to buy my wife a new car, she agreed to some upgrades and repairs on the bike. I would like some input on your experience in which I value dearly. Tires, mind you, are set, so I don't need any input/thread jacking/ statistical data and such =) Tires: Goodyear Pilot Road 3: coming from Pilot Power and sport tires only, my tire guy told me I could easily get 10K and the grip I need for the twisties. Boots: SIDI Fusion's run $215, is there another type of SIDI that might be worth investing a little more in (they go $500+) Suit: Sedici Separates Rapido Jacket and Pants ($650) or full suit $600 - probably go with separates because I don't always want a onesie. Gloves: Sedici $70 - love the dexterity and protection - could use some pointers on your experience. Hardware: I would like to replace some of the pieced together fairing bolts and trim clips etc, yet all I can find is online OEM, and the pricing runs $150 for the fairing bolts and trim clips for the upper fairing, sides, and trim clips, which seems a little steep. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks again and I look forward to posting more, which I know, you all have missed so MUCH! JWS
  11. Graves - congrats on the gear. I agree with everyone though, I took a side hit last year and my ankle/boot took the brunt of the force from a car that turned into me. I, like you used to just wear boots but upgraded to a pair of riding boots. Thankfully the ankle protector protected me as it should have and I was spared any damage. It's not you you have to worry about, it's the other idiots! Either way, safe riding and have fun! Oh and good job with the wife!

Hey guys - lot of great info on this thread, I was going to post up a new topic but it seems like most of my questions have been answered. Being that you guys have had quite a bit of time to tool around with this stuff I wanted to get a quick update from everyone, especially Timmydecopp since he made that friggin awesome video. Best mounting spot for straight on shots? Best mounting spot for view of suspension? Best mounting spots for side view? Are any of you getting great shots without mounting rams?
