  1. I run clear with some perscription oakley gascans, but judging but the responces maybe I should buy a tinted visor
  2. Are there actually any US made cycle tires anymore? I'm sure some car tires but I'm not aware of any US bike tires I guess? US society is coming back around to that "buy usa" branding again and with good reason really, although the entire world is hurting. Without flame or rant any US cycle tire manufacturers out there? I hate to point out the obvious, but VFR's are made in Japan. Car tires are easier to find U.S. MFG's like Goodyear and Continental. I get into the same mode from time to time to buy American but when you do you start owning $300 oakleys and can't buy a computer or tv you quickly get on the world market bandwagon. I now buy U.S. when given the option, but if an option isn't staring me in the face i don't sweat it. on that note J&P cycles has a filter that you can search for only MADE in the U.S.A. only (3) Dunlops come thru on their site in our sizes.
  3. I changed to a -1/+2 over winter, it's feels like a big difference to me, the higher rpms give you more acceleration at highway speed (6th gear, 60mph), but get's a little annoying when your scooting at 85-90mph for long period of time. I've got about 500 miles on the change and I like it.
  4. you mean I could've had an excuse to leave work early today and i didn't see it until now. Damn it! well maybe next time.
  5. I decided to paint my heat shield and found duplicolor metal cast was good for 500F degrees. SI bought the ground coat (silver in color) and the shiny red can, then shot 3 coats of each and to my surprise its a damn near perfect match. so I thought I'd share my small discovery with you. DSC00461.JPG I didn't put any clear coat on it; I think that might make it even closer, but I didn't want to push my luck.

    Chrome Rims

A couple members wanted to see more pics of my chrome rims. I got them done 12/09 as an x-mas gift to my vfr. I had them done by classic components in cali, and so far so good.
  7. I use Bausch&Lomb sight saver tissue's their like a wet nap with windex. they work great and only clean where you rub.

    Rear sprocket

My rear sprocket. A SuperSprox 45T with the Hub painted Metallic Orange, I picked up a can at O'Rielly Auto Parts (plug). My 6yo daughter picked the color and it looks perfect.
  9. they came out with that version about a week after I bought the XBi, and I've envied the XBi2 ever since. I might just break down and get some this year
  10. I have a Chatterbox XBi bluetooth and use it mainly to stream music and GPS from my Archos5 but you can hook it up to a cell phone too, the sound quality is good and so is the mic. the only thing they could improve is the size of the mic is too big IMO and the range is limited (20 feet)
  11. I just installed one of these over the winter. It sucks! it's in their but it's tight and loose at the same time (won't fall out but wiggles). I've going to go to O'Reilly Auto Parts and get like a rubber expanding dust plug that's size to the hole and use that because the universal thing just doesn't work well at all. the other thing i thought was funny is they have a loop for a lock on the waterproof box but the stem that attaches it to the knob on the bike has a wing nut for tightening it into position, what would stop someone from just loosing that and taking the whole box? I did a Homer DOH! when I realized that. a side from all of that it's made from good materials, and I'd recommend them with caution.
  12. The Dutch ofcourse......... Spain is the heavy favorite, probably because the don't have to split their time between practice and manufacturing tires, since they moved it to Thailand. I found this link for car tires and their country of origin, something to keep in mind when buying them, I live near Akron, OH and all of us in NE Ohio appreciate the business.
  13. :cheerleader: Oh, I thought the question was about who would win in World Cup Soccer.
  14. I'm still waiting on the official 6th gen option. BTW - I'm in need of an excuse to Justify getting a Toro charger when the kit is officially launched to give my wife. Oh, and she's an ASE cert. gear head who also rides, so BS about it saving fuel and the rain forest won't work. maybe the best option is to hide money, and install it when she's not home, but she'll notice it when her bike is no longer faster than mine.
