  1. I just bought these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P2D3W0A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 based on another thread here. Not really happy with them. I swapped out one of the tail light bulbs to see the difference. As a running or brake light, it doesn't really appear any brighter. It does light quicker. It's like having two brake lights a fraction of a second apart. I think I'm going to go with the SuperBrightLED ones. Here is the new link for them.: https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/tail-brake-turn/7443-led-bulb-dual-function-27-smd-led-tower-wedge-retrofit/2614/5711/
  2. I've got a Ram mount in the steering stem for my Zumo. I use a short arm to keep it low to the tank so it doesn't obstruct the gauges. I don't need to see it (though I can with a quick glance down) as I have it synced with my Cardo headset to hear the directions. I can't find a picture of mine right now, but here's the Ram link with pics. http://www.rammount.com/CatalogResults/PartDetails/tabid/63/partid/082065077045066045051052050085/Default.aspx
  3. I'm still considering heated grips. I'd prefer a pair of heated gloves, seeing as I already have the jacket, but they'd have to be "Yev priced". (Inside joke from our local forum.)

  5. If the main thing you're looking for is thicker grips, try adding a pair of Grip Puppies over stock. They're cheap and easy. I love mine. I like the looks of those Kuryakyns, but not the price.
  6. Thanks for the vids! I've been following Shorai since I saw them at the IMS show in NYC in January. When my battery goes (it's not even 2 years old), I'm definitely going to get a Shorai.
  7. If you can't get a decent video, how about a couple pics instead? Sounds like my kind of farkle, functional but cheap. :fing02:

    Local CT Ride

Went for a ride the other day with the fiance on the back. I wanted to take some new pics. Not bad for a point and shoot. .
  10. I've heard of the DDM kits before and was wondering how well they work with the 6th Gen. Please keep us posted. Thanks!

    6th Gen OEM Luggage Installation

These are pics from the installation of the OEM bags on my 07 RWB that I just did today.
  12. When I got my 07 RWB last fall, I decided I was going to ride it for a full season before making any big changes to it. Though I did buy a Corbin seat with backrest (used) for the woman. Since then I bought a set of OEM luggage, grip heaters, new gel grips and a fuse block, all to be put on later this month (lousy weather and no garage). Exhaust wise, it's staying stock because I like the quietness of it, and I'm not very mechanically inclined. I've been thinking of the throttle lock, as mentioned. It would probably be a good time to get it, and put it on with the grips. As far as bar risers or windscreen, I want to ride it enough to determine whether I want/need anything them.
  13. Cool find, Britt. I'll have to keep them in mind next time I change my grips. I've got a set of Driven D3 gel grips that I bought over the winter that I have yet to put on. Later this month I plan on a weekend of farkle installs. I've had my eye on the Drivens for a while, but I hear they wear out. When they do, I'll look into the BMW's.
  14. Thanks Bonus. :goofy: I posted the question on the Zumo forum, also, and everybody there said the same thing, that it's not a problem installing it yourself. I just found the wording of that a little odd. I have Tightwad's fuse box that I need to install yet. I'm going to wire the Zumo to that. I'm also going to wire my grip heaters and heated jacket liner to it. I'm just waiting for the weather to cooperate.
  15. I finally broke down and dropped the coin on a 550. Just got it yesterday and so far it's everything I expected. I haven't mounted it on the VFR yet b/c of the weather and not having a garage. But I have a question already. I was reading the manual (go figure) and it says something to the effect that if you opt for the bare wire connection, it has to be done by a professional who has knowledge and experience with automotive electronics in order to not void the warranty. What's up with that?! I planned on doing the bare wire rather than the power outlet but now I'm a little concerned. What do you guys think?
