I bet I have read this type of comment 20 times or more since I joined this site. The cleaning of white wheels is a non-issue unless you neglect your bike. I have owned my share of white wheeled bikes. Some came painted white from the factory and some I had painted or powder coated. Other than black, any wheel painted will take a little more care but if you don't wash your bike, ride in the rain multiple times before washing your bike or live on a dirt road - don't paint them at all, just used primer. To help those with thoughts of going with yellow, bronze, white or any other light color, here is some useful tips.
1.) After a good detailing, wax the wheels - a PIA but worth the investment in time. 2 times a season is all that is required
2.) On the back wheel, on the chain side, leave a light coat of dried white wax. I have never had another person ask me about it
3.) S100 works great but don't ride 5,000 miles between uses
4.) After riding for long periods, brake dust will build up and be more visible so use compressed air to blow it off between washes
5.) Finally, I have seen alot of riders who either don't lube their chain or use too much. Too much and your wheel look like crap. After a good coating has been applied, use a clean disposable rag to wipe the chain down, inside and out. I usually spray WD-40 on the rag before using it on the chain.
Most importantly, don't let people talk you out of adding a little style to your rides. Hell, we all could ride black bikes but that would force Timmy to probably go all white! :fing02: Good luck and don't forget to post before and after pics. JD
