    Craig's tree

Is this the "Squirrel!" event? If so, I hope we can ride together again Craig. You lead so we don't get lost.

    Cool Breeze.JPG

    From the album: MaxSwell Album

I bought a brand-new air-mobile It custom-made, 'twas a Flight De Ville With a pow'ful motor and some hideaway wings Push in on the button and you can hear her sing Now you can't catch me Baby you can't catch me 'Cause if you get too close, you know I'm gone like a Cool Breeze I named my first VFR Cool Breeze because of the feeling I get when I want to be gone like one. Chuck Berry is dead. Long live the Grandfather of Rock And Roll!
  5. When I put in LED headlights on my fifth gen, I was advised that the reduced power draw would add load to the R/R. I already had a VFRness and an upgraded R/R. MellowDude made me a heatsink that mounts between the R/R and the subframe and I've had no problems related to that. Seem to me it must sink a lot of heat. As far as I know he's still at it. See you in Franklin pal. I can show you there.

And a nice pair of fives indeed.
  7. Where in the world is Olive? I've missed you, my friend.
  8. I apologize for my late check-in; I made it home at 2am Aug 23 after 5700 mi. I had a fabulous time with the crew in Nelson even if my dead battery caused me to miss the ride. My BC tour went to Revelstoke from Nelson (after a four day wait for a new chain and sprockets ) then camped a couple of days in Yoho, a rainy trip to Banff, staying in the Backpackers Inn a couple of days after a very wet night at Two Jack Lake. Then up the Bow River Pkwy, back to Golden and on to Kamloops. Then the best of the trip: BC 12 to Lillooet and then BC 99 south. Stayed in Squamish then an afternoon in downtown Vancouver. Camped my way back to Nelson via CA 1 and BC 3. Main Jet did an oil change and I was on to the border at Eastport. I was very sad to be leaving BC. Western Montana was great: US2 through Glacier NP and on east. Eastern Mont. and No. Dakota were the longest part of the trip. Brutal, straight-ahead, no scenery and no trees. A strong southerly cross wind made it even tougher. The trip took it's toll on this oldie; it took me a week to recover. Right now, I'm planning on making BC a yearly trip. Someone clued me to a first weekend in Aug. mc gathering that he called Sturgis BC. Mc s and music. That alone would be enough but add in the fabulous road, scenery and people and it's a no brainer. So I will be back. Y'all have been warned. P.S.1- No forest rat attacks were experience; I had to brake for a black bear and a crew of big horn sheep. Nothing scary. Hoo Ray! P.S. 2- Where was Olive???!
  9. Wait a frickin' minute. Did someone hit an animal?! My condolences if so. Congrats on being walking around.
  10. I'm stuck here at the Dancing Bear waiting for new chain/sprockets. Appointment Fri. Considering spending the winter here :------) (nose just grew six inches).
  11. I had to return to the Dancing Bear late yesterday with countershaft sprocket noise. MainJet at 10am; fingers crossed. Mike: I was headed to Revelstoke then Banff. I may get a hold of you - you've been warned. Love your suggestions.\ Terry
  12. I'm finally leaving the Dancing Bear. Headed to Revelstoke and Yoho. I joined Intl. Hostels to do more of these stays. Full props to Mike and the whole crew for making this such a Fabulous Trip.My happy muscles got quite a workout. Thinking back on the weekend still brings on a feces-eating grin, causing strangers to come up to me and comment that must have just gotten laid. I probably won't be making my home safe state for several more weeks. BC and CA are great; it will be hard to leave. Terry
  13. I made it to Nelson about noonish and have a bunk at the Dancing Bear for tonight. Fabulous riding from Missoula MT on MT200, camped at a beautiful campsite on Bull Lake Tuesday and stayed at Robbinson Lake Campground last night. (No need to go to Coeur d'Alene.) Made Nelson and checked in to Dancing Bear. Nice place, lousy parking lot - loose gravel. See Y'all tomorrow. Terry
  14. I'm in the public library in Havre MT heading towards Great Falls and mt200. On to Coeur d'Alene then north. Later Max
  15. SFOM, your plans sound great to me. I am slow to come to in the morning, so 9 o'clock sounds very civilized to me. I cannot say how much I appreciate all you've put into getting this herd of squirrels all headed more or less in the same direction. I'd like to buy your first beverage when the opportunity presents itself. Max
  16. I checked the website and there is a two hour geo-talk for $20 that will satisfy my curiosity and fit my timetable. Thanks for the info. I'm also really looking forward to being back in Banff / Jasper / Yoho.
  17. That is very useful information. I was not aware of it's popularity. I plan on calling for info next week. Thanks SFOM. I'd love to take you up on your offer. I will keep you posted. Less than a month to go. Whoop!
  18. For now. Seems my mind is as reluctant to be made up as my bed. But it seems I can hardly miss with all the great alternatives available in your fabulous provinces.
  19. I'd very much appreciate your guidance SFOM. I'm torn between heading west after the meet-up or going east to Banff area. If I got to Nelson Monday, 7/18, I'd have Tues. > Thurs to go do a quick run to Banff and back to Nelson. There is only one place I'd like to explore more than just ride through there: I've been wanting to visit the Burgess Shale area forever. Perhaps three days is not enough. If were to leave a few days earlier I might be able to satisfy my Banff objective and still go west after the meet. Then I may be able to hook up with the Calgary riders for the trip to Nelson. I'll think about that. Hard. Looking forward to this With Wild Anticipation. Terry
  20. I'm hoping to ride through Yoho, Jasper and Banff after but I'm planning on staying in the PNW for several more weeks.
