Hello you guys. Just got back into riding and with a new bike. Time to buy some parts right? Unfortunately I dumped all the old links to product pages. So any suggestions for reputable sellers? Quick searching seems to be showing a scarcer market by now.

Might be a bit sleep deprived or just a clueless 'searcher' (forum search function doesn't bring up specifics) but, what are some websites (including ebay like listings) where they readily sell ss brake line, hose and LED kits? Exactly what type of LED light bulbs are needed for the head/brakes/indicators? The hoses and ss brake lines always turn up being for the VTEC. Seeing some brake lines and hose kits but have the prices always been $240-450? Since I live in poland, any price is multiplied by 3.8 times.

Any headsup on links, former threads or anything would be appreciated. Shit talking about the question is fine too. Just want to be in the 'know' again 🙂

Just got some powder coating done btw.

I just checked with my local Honda mc dealer at Honda Town Minneapolis (612-722-1110) and they can get fifth gen cowls. And they are willing to accept mail orders. I bought my first helmet from them in 1968; it is family owned and they have a mc racing background. I highly recommend them. And they have been able to get me any fifth gen part I've ever needed.

Good luck and welcome back to the asylum. You obviously have great taste in mc's.

Thanks man. Will most likely make that phone call near in the future!

Perhaps the sane people got stuck in the asylum instead of the reverse? In regards to our tastes in MCs that is ;D

Any chance they can get cowls for a 97 cbr900rr? I'm looking for the middle rear cowl where the lock set goes for the under seat storage.

I'd suggest you give them a call. It would help them if you knew the part number and gave it to them when you call.

Hi,

For Honda parts

https://www.cmsnl.com/ in the Netherlands (they sometimes have discontinued parts also)

I couldn’t find out whether these two deliver to Poland.

https://www.fowlersparts.co.uk/ - has the full parts fiche for looking up parts

https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/VFR800FIX-1999/

I’ve found https://www.wemoto.com/ very good service wise when I needed to return and swap parts. They can get in (and stock some) Honda parts. Also do some decent aftermarket service items.

I’m not up to date with the aftermarket bits as I’m just getting my FiX back on the road and as you say, it’s more limited now.

For exhausts I know of Delkevic and recently came across  https://www.lextekproducts.com/index.php but have no experience with either.

Tail/brake bulbs are W21/5w aka 7443 - this is just what I’ve found. I havent sourced a set of LEDs yet so can’t say which specific ones may fit (length of bulb sometimes an issue).

i just read your San Diego restoration thread from start to finish. Hats off to you. Amazing job in very difficult conditions. I have the benefit of a garage and still finding most jobs a challenge.

I've bought loads from Ebay as well as some of the above sites. Just got hold of a yellow tank for mine in very good condition to replace my rather tired and rusty one. I've had brake lines, oil cooler pipes, end can, airbox etc etc all in pretty much 'as new' condition and it's always my first port of call for anything original.
