jocker01
Hi, I bought my vfr1200fd just over one week ago, it came with only on key so I order new key from a stealer. Unfortunately they are not able to order keys which will come already matched to the bike :( I will try to use old method by connecting power to the ECU via crank sensor plug. Would anyone know where I can find this plug on 1200? I don't want to remove to many things unnecessary. Regards Jocker01
Member Contributer Skids Posted April 11, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted April 11, 2017 The Honda dealer cannot code the key to your bike??? Something wrong there. Can't help you with the plug I'm afraid.
jocker01
Hi, they can code it but first i need to cut it and return back to them, rather like car keys come already cut and matched.
jocker01
I found it :D I was on right hand side, under main fairing. Would like to kindly confirm that old vfr key matching method works with 1200f as well. Managed to match 2 extra keys with one which which is dedicated to CB1000 :D Regards Jocker01 ps key for CB1000 is about 5mm shorter and does not lock/unlock handlebars... I did not know about it until someone pointed this to me from another forum! :(

soichiro
Honda car keys take special software. Cutting the key is easy. Programming to the ecu, not so much.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
