coupedupsubie
I was very happy after putting the Metzler roadtec z8's on my 94. I wish I had put them on back when I first got the bike.
ChiefGodzilla
Filly decided to look at what shoes she has and on and they are the Q2 there is a local shop that sells used track tires and I can get one for about 80 bucks. Is it worth it or should I buy new?
RedRicer
oh boy...... you couldn't pay me to put a used tire on my bike.... a track tire is also going to be incredibly soft and you'll burn through it commuting in no time.

Snowdog
TYres are so important, never use seconds!! As with may thinks it's down to personal preference. I really dislike Pirelli, but love the Michelin PR 2's 3's and 4's The Pilot Powers are goo to but not so much in the wet or for legevity
Member Contributer Duc2V4 Posted December 16, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted December 16, 2015 I have a friend that uses "take offs" all the time. He uses them mostly on the track, with a few occasional canyon rides and so far it's never been an issue. A good friend of his will use the tires once or twice and then give them to him. So far I've changed three sets of tires for him. Dunlop Q2's, Michelin PP3's and the last set were Pirelli Diablo Corsa and out of all them, he liked the Pirelli's best. I'll probably stick to my current setup, PP3 front, PR4 rear for a while but it seems like quite a few here have had good results with a few other brands, which I may try sometime in the future. ChiefGodzilla
So I sinned and went with the ContiSport attacks. I love the turn in on them, nice and smooth. Since I do a lot more commuting then canyon carving I went with a cheaper tire.
