Thinking About Selling The Vfr.

Hi guys,

Not a popular subject by any means but I am considering selling the VFR. Life is switching things up on me so I am getting the feelers out there. I have a candy apple red 2007 VFR ABS. I bought this last year in August with 2400 miles on the clock. It was a dealer trade in and is still in fantastic shape. I am the 2nd owner and have put more miles on the bike than the original did. Yet, I am not riding as much as I expected. I also have my 78 CB750 which I really enjoy riding on those perfect days.

The bullet points.

  • ABS Model
  • 74xx miles
  • partially gutted stock exhaust which is still silent on the highway
  • Angel GT tires with 2200 miles on them
  • Inspection good til August 2016

What do you guys think is a realistic price? By the condition the bike is in, I feel it is a solid $5000 bike. I tried doing research on ebay for sold listings but their isn't many. KBB is useless for motorcycles. Closest I found was a 2007 non ABS candy apple with about 10K selling for $4300.

So what do you guys think?

Thanks,

Mike

This spring the local C/L had a 2007 Candy Red with ABS that had full factory luggage. It had 3,500 miles on it. Absolutely pristine original condition, including tires. The asking price was $6,500. The ad lasted about 4 days - no idea if it sold or was removed from the market. That was however, at the beginning of riding season rather than the end. Tough time of year to sell with holiday shopping expenses, etc. coming up for potential buyers. Your price range seems reasonable, but you might have to wait a while to find the right buyer.

You'll probably have a hard time selling it now that winter is upon us but if you wait till spring I think you can easily get $5000 for it.
