TallCarver
My '03 is abs. With my spare set of wheels, I want to have a set to swap out with a sport and a set with commuters. The mod. My spare front isn't an ABS. Has anyone tapped out their own holes into a non-ABS rotor to mount the ABS Ring? Can this be done? I'm about to give it a shot in a couple of weeks. Veefer800Canuck
As long as the tone ring lines up correctly with the sensor, there's no reason that won't work.
SEBSPEED
Yes it can be done, be sure to take care when transferring the holes. If it's not done right, it may affect wheel balance and abs performance.
TallCarver
Thanks guys. The parts fiche shows the attaching bolts for the tone ring as 5x10mm.Does anyone know the thread pitch? I'd like to know the correct thread tap before I try this.
SEBSPEED
Pull one of the bolts from your bike and check it with a thread pitch gauge. Generally speaking, 5mm bolt would be .08mm or .09mm pitch.
Member Contributer JZH Posted January 2, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted January 2, 2015 In microfiche-speak, that's M5, 10mm in length. Hondas generally use "standard" pitch bolts, except for the M10. Ciao,
