I was just about to order new Fedoro sintered pads for my bike and then I started thinking, are those rotors stainless steel or cast iron ?

I'm not at home for a week, so I could chec, so help would be much appriciated!

I ask, cause I wouldn't like to put sintered ones in if the rotors are cast iron...

They are stainless.

Stock Honda VFR rotors are all stainless.

Cast iron discs have a slightly higher coefficient of friction than stainless, but of course they rust real fast, so Honda doesn't use them for appearance reasons.

And can you imagine Joe Customer coming in a week after buying his brand new Gold Wing, complaining that his discs are rusting, and he wants warranty???? haha.

Some Italian bikes have used cast iron discs from the factory, but owners of Italian bikes are more accustomed to ah, "character" in their motorcycles.

Iron rotors can completely rust over night. Ask any Guzzi owner. (the rust actually is said to help braking power). If they were iron, you'd know it.
