I don't use WD 40 on my chain and it has done 53,450 miles so far. 10k life on a drive chain, disgraceful. :491:

Tell tell yeah the truth, chain life on orings(xrings are better life), doesnt matter whether you use lube or not, as long as there's no rust issue. Chain lifes biggest defaults, are the type of chain itself and what its subjected to(rider input). There are 530 chains I can barely get 10,000 mile out of, and there are 530 chains I can push 20,000 miles. and the lube method really doesnt matter with orings, cause Ive done every which way, the only thing that really gives results is the quality of chain itself.

For what it's worth I can't stand the smell of WD-40 no matter how good or bad it is.

That's what I was thinking when I was reading through all the household uses...your entire house, garage, and car would stink like WD-40...LOL!
