Guest silentjatt
Hey guys. New to the VF world. just picked up a 1985 VF750F. it needs tires and a battery. was wondering what others are using for tires. the stock size is 120/80-16 and 130/80-18. i was guna stick wit the stock sizes but im not sure on wat tires to go with. i was recomended BT45. anyone use these? my main concern is grip while cornering ofcourse but also would like a tire that would be decent in wet
timmythecop
You are on the right track. I was going to suggest BT45s, but you are already there. I ran them on my Guzzi Lemans III. They are dual compound bias ply, and sorta the "go-to" tyre for folks with older bikes or wierd sizes. Plenty of grip and good wear. They are pretty cheap too! Say that reminds me.....I need to order a set for my Top Secret Guzzi V50 project..............
Member Contributer slowbird Posted June 4, 2011 Member Contributer Share Posted June 4, 2011 I had BT45's on my 1986VF500 and my 1986 VFR750....both wore horribly. I went with Pirelli Demon Sports for my VF500 and loved them. My 1986 VFR I got Avon Roadriders and they are awesome too.

Member Contributer Jakobi Posted June 4, 2011 Member Contributer Share Posted June 4, 2011 Another +1 for Avon Roadriders. I put them on my VF500 and they worked great. I put about 3000 miles on them in a summer and they still looked like they did the day I put them on. -Jake
