  1. Purolator Synthetic is 99% efficient @ 25 microns while PureOnes are 99.9% efficient at 20 microns. PureOne is still the better filter. If PureOnes were not available I would take the Synthetic over the standard Purolator filter. -Jake
  2. I tried that once and it was actually more cramped. I usually just stand on the pegs for a bit while flexing my quads. Also, Aleve. -Jake

    My dash

I'd like to know if anyone has any info on this as well. A dash upgrade was going to be one of my winter projects this year. -Jake
  4. It's still recommended that the compressor be mounted as close to vertical as possible. Fortunately, with a bit of work, the trumpets can be seperated from the compressor and mounted remotely. -Jake
  5. So has there been a consensus as to whether or not CBR1000 coils are essentially plug and play? -Jake
  6. I bought the knockoff Chinese levers (non-foldable) and couldn't be happier. ~$40 for a set of adjustable levers is a pretty good deal in my book. -Jake
  7. I use the same filter on my 1st gen 500 as on my 5th gen, even though he lists a different filter for the 500. I found that the 500 filters offered wouldn't clear my header pipe because the diameter was too big. I believe the 700/750/800 all use the same filter. He lists all gens and makes on his web site. -Jake
  8. Elka or Ohlins. I didn't see anything on Penske's web site about remote preload adjustment. -Jake
  9. AFAIK all stock VFR shocks are adjustable for preload. If yours is maxed out then you need a stronger spring. You have several options. The cheapest and easiest it to buy the correct strength spring for the VFR shock. Most people find VFR shocks to be pretty lacking so they do the next best option and use a CBR 929/954 shock and fab a new upper mount. If you don't want to do this yourself, Jamie Daughtery offers a relatively inexpensive option (he'll even rebuild and respring it for you). Your other options are to buy a Penske, Elka, or Ohlins ($$$). -Jake
  10. Are you adjusting the preload to compensate for the additional weight? -Jake
  11. I have one of their CDI sparkers for my CX that hasn't been installed yet. A bunch of guys over at choppercharles.com have used them with good results and quality/customer service is good. I don't have any experience with their FI units. -Jake
