Does 1.5 X 1.25 Really Make A Difference

Question

Guest VFRoj

I've been thinking of installing some helibars ever since I got the VFR, but I'm not sure that raising the height 1.25" and bringing the bars back 1.5" is really going to be be noticeable.

For those of you who have them:

Is it a noticable difference?

Are they worth the price?

How many more miles do they allow?

Do they allow the bars to be rotated forward to get rid of the stupid angle that the stock bars have!?!?

Thanks for any help you can give.

I've ridden a couple bikes set up with them, they do make a difference. Could be that my back is still young, but I prefer the stock bars. Mileage will be up to you, they do let you sit up a little straighter. They don't have the locating tabs like the stock bars do, so yes, you can rotate them any which way you want.

I dont have helis, but I do know comfort wise they make a big difference.

I can give you some tips to make the stock clipons much more comfortable

raise your fork tubes to 47mm this will allow you to raise the clipons out of their detent and rotate forward(when they kiss the cowl, thats as far as you can go) , makes a world of difference to me. Enough that I can avoid the Helis.

You give up alittle push ablilty , but I like it alot comfort wise

Noticeable difference - Yes

Worth the price - They are spendy... but I think they were worth it for the comfort.

How many more miles - Depends on you. 350 to 400 miles are no problem.

Rotate the bars - Yes
