VFRD Fall Ride

VFRD Calendar
*VFRD Fall Ride Info*
Dates: September 12-15 (or 11th if you prefer)
Book A.S.A.P. There's a wedding party that has blocked off 22 rooms, but there are at least 7 still available as of today 5/28/24. Not to mention RV sites, and tent sites, as well as cabins, etc.

For those that haven't stayed there, it's an awesome place with live music, a tavern, and a coffee truck, plus more.

I looked into the Big Lynn Lodge in Little Switzerland, but the rates are higher, there's less options and the lady at The Pineola was more accommodating to us.

The owner? at the Pineola came and spent some time with us on our rain day a few weeks ago. We had helped ourselves to the common room to watch videos. It is a cool place and has great places to eat close by.

In case rooms run short and folks don't know, you can rent a camper and have it set up at the campground. My wife and I did this and it worked out pretty good.

Hey look an event! This is coming up quick. Who's ready to ride?

Ready but can't get Motoamerica to reschedule COTA.  😝

Work in the way again.

I'm hitting the road in the morning. It looks like we will have a great turnout in spite of the forecast. Speaking of the forecast, it is trending in favor of us. If any of you decide to show up and haven't been before, look me up and I'll introduce you around.

I may pop up for a day from CLT. If I don't see you, be safe!

Ride the Snake on Thursday before the storm. I may be going there today, too.  I'd be happy to show you around.

Currently I have other plans through Saturday afternoon, but thanks! Just back from a few days around glorious WV. I was amazed at how much better condition the roads are in there compared to NC. It wasn't so many years ago that it was the opposite.

Thank you!  Safe travels to all attending!  I wish I could go but next month would be the earliest I can "get away"

The last time I was in WV, I remember coal dust all over my bike.  Is that still the case?  Maybe I took the wrong roads lol

You were right if you took the coal road...and had some moisture! The rest were very clean. I was amazed.

We had twenty something attendees for this event. The only thing better than the riding was the people. The weather was only really bad one day and we made the best of it watching videos. If you're still on the fence about these events, get off and come to the SpringRide.

I do have some video to edit. There are a lot pics on the FB group. If I get a chance, I'll grab a few and share them here for those that don't do FB. I think we had three VFR's out of about twenty bikes. It is still a great crowd and we still talk VFR's a lot.

Or maybe post the link to FB here? Like most, I despise Fbook, but I'm on there because I have to be.

Well dang.  Seemed like no one was going on here.  I guess I need to watch the FB more often.  I had no idea 👀

One of the groups decided to entertain themselves while riding through rain back towards the hotel.
