Event details

2024 Spring Ride Official Post.
We shall be holding forth from Franklin, NC once again this year. The dates are May 16-19th and lodging at the Rodeway Inn. I don’t have any special rates to speak of at the moment. Donna spoke to someone when she booked her room and they said to go ahead and book and we’ll sort any special pricing out when we arrive. There is something going on in town those dates so book A.S.A.P.

I believe, and someone correct me if I’m mistaken, but I believe this is our 20th TMAC. Last year should have marked the 20th, but the cancellation of the 2020 ride negated that.

Can’t wait to see y’all there!

FYI, the period is in the link keeping it from working. Just remove it from the address after you click it. 🙂

I tried several time to change it to a link and it won't come up as a link. Cut and paste will work. Sorry, this is a no budget operation.

It's just over a month out. Don't let the lack of discussion give you the wrong idea. There will be a good crowd of former VFR owners in attendance and still a few VFR's. Y'all come join us.

Any special plans to see any sights or ride specific roads? Just the usual 28, Wayah, 129, 143/165, 68, 30/315?

What are folks bringing for non-VFRs? I'm trying to decide if I want the little 400 or just both VFRs.

I'll be on my Tiger660 as will several others. There are no planned rides as usual. The Dragon is getting paved so I doubt anybody goes up there. I know most of the folks who attend and can most likely point you towards any whatever kind of ride you want. The plans mostly come together in the parking lot the night before the ride. There will be a couple of 400's in attendance but they will be Kawasaki's.

A local mentioned Warwoman Road, from Hwy 28 over to Clayton, GA. It turned out to be a great road. It’s an easy one to miss, because it comes up from over one’s right shoulder. Basically, it’s the first major road, across the state line. The regulars may already know of it.

Whitewater Falls turned out to be a cool sight. The access road to the parking lot is somewhat narrow and unmarked. And, there is no cell service, so grabbing a screenshot of the map, before getting down in that area would be advantageous. If you hit the state line or the Duke Energy entrance, you’ve went too far.

There’s probably going to be a whole lot of traffic on every other road, with the repaving going on.

Good times on Warwoman Rd back in 2012! My battery died at a rest stop in Clayton. The parts store had one and @Dutchy was nice enough to offer his services. When I saw all of he phones pointed at us, I had to make the most of it.

Wish I could join you all for the event.  As it happens, I'll be traveling through NC that weekend on my way to FL, but in the car with my wife, and not on my motorcycle.

I'm hoping to get down to that region later this summer or early fall.

Have fun and ride safe, everyone! 🙂

Is anyone planning on a ride from the hotel on Thursday or are folks planning to arrive in the evening or on Friday? Weather looks pretty good over the four days. Friday may be a nice day to hit Maggie Valley museum. 🙂
