  3. Revalidation is going well, but still cannot ride. Weather is -to coin a phrase- "shyte", so will retreat to the couch with a book and a wee dram.... Ride safe boys! (and girls) Slainte!
  4. Came across this one in Nepal (many years ago, still have that umbrella!) :-)
  5. Since I still cannot ride, might as well create good vibes and mood by going to a gig... Got my brace authographed to mark the occasion :-)
  6. At ~1,400 euro, I'll give that one a miss.... On another topic..... I found out too late that a guy in my town was selling a complete fairing kit WITH a solo seat cowl... :-(
  7. Wash, clay, wax AND a new dress..... What the lady wants, the lady gets! And when she is looking pretty, I better do too!
  8. Yeah that skylift is really nice, saw one at the Dutch importer.... Aaahh.... 5pm on a saturday....
  9. Ok, she has a centre stand, but could snap this one up! And who knows, my next mc may have a sidestand only... :-) Solid as a rock, small jack under the engine and front end servicing a doddle..
  10. Not sold on the ripcord airbags.... Especially since I tend to forget things, so only a matter of time I will trip it.... :-) Flogged the Rev'it branded kneesliders, today received their replacements....
  11. Cheers! I never was a fan of hi-viz jackets and as I did not get noticed wearing this: Riding with both headlights on, both indicators orange and white LED as dlrl's Am not convinced it makes any difference when your number is up... :-)
  12. Well, it all started last May, with an invite to ride biatch with Mamola on the GP16 2-seater. snag was, weight limit (with regular dress) = 90 kilo. Ooops I was 96 in the buff.. 6 weeks later though, I did make the "grade" and was feeling good in a smaller set of leathers... continued the "regime" since, enjoying food, but simply LESS of it..... ETFH Eat The Friggin Half!!!!! Now at 84.7 kilo, it became obvious that my IXS leather pants were getting floppy. During my Baltic tour I had already decided to go for a size down. So from size 54, I now give you Dutchy 52! I will loose/sell the sliders though, I will not use them in anger for sure....
  13. A linguist lost for words? come on man, spill the beans!!!! Who knows, they may launch it for the VAS visor too.....
  14. Yes they refuse to put a visor inside as they believe it compromises their design/technical philosophy so they come up with "Pro-Shade" for some of their helmets (not the ones with the new VAS visor yet), the sunvisor is clamped on top of the regular visor Can't help but think that this will increase wind noise for sure. If anyone here can tell us otherwise.... :-)
  15. Well..................... the Honda wing that Drudi put on the helmet does ring a bell...................
  16. Hahahahaha! We'd say "the devil craps in the same spot" here in Utrecht.... But using your phrase, being terminated by the company after 30 year service felt more like a vulture crapping on me than a pigeon.... :-) But then again, in a year or so it might all end up smelling of roses......
  17. Christmas did come early this year!!!! Thanks to Crossan Motorcycles Ltd / thevisorshop.com Yes, the weak UK Pound led me to them, but their staff is friendly and knowledgeable too (I phoned them to inquire and later make an addition to my order). Top marks! I did ask 2 local dealers if they could do anything on their RRP's (not asking them to match..) but no "this is a limited edition ARAI". So 220 euro less, shipped yesterday, arrived just now. I will let the pictures do the talking.....
  18. It is a home build by Carsten indeed. The tank tubes are next, I will measure the OEM ones coming week for him (a NR is located 2 miles from my home). Danish winters can be long and a heated garage sure helps.....
  19. Wow, I've been neglecting this topic...... Anyway, update, I caved in................ JOLO and with the insurance company paying for the damage set the scrap value of my bike at 240 Euro (against a pre-accident value of 2,600), I did really well on selling redslut's bits off........ Common sense told me a modular Shoei Neotec would be more practical... But with the UK pound weak as it is........ Ships with a extra (free) visor, so went for the dark one....
  20. Dutchy

Another theory being (part of) the ethanol in fuel making it into the oil where it eats the lacquer of the copper windings...
