  1. Pure dead brilliant. Where ya fah?
  2. 40+ years riding, some 15? helmets. 2 of my current 4 are due for replacement at some point next year.
  3. A Schuberth C3 saved my bacon, T-boning an oncoming cager turning left...
  4. Oh! And a "vintage look" SHOEi for the 1975 MV...
  5. Oh baby............. I need a cigarette now.... All helmets on the market here in NL must meet a minimum of testing criteria. and no actual crash will be exactly as the test routine.... so they are all "safe".... Next comes fit and comfort. A cheap "safe" helmet may irritate you after an hour, noise, draft, rattling visor. This is "unsafe"in my book as it takes away focus/concentration. Then comes free disposable income and williness to spend it on a helmet or not. why did I buy an ARAI HRC? why did I buy an AGV tri-colore? why did A buy another ARAI (mamola replica) and put DUCATI decals on? You catch my drift?
  6. Welkom! Als je met VTR1000 de "F" bedoelt en niet de "SP1" of "SP2", dan zal je niet veel winnen... 8 spoker makes for a looker
  7. I digged (late) 70's chicks, being from 1962, my world had begun to open up 🙂
  8. I know of a complete (red) set of RC36/2 (VFR750F aka 4th gen) bodypanels in the Netherlands. Not brand new, butr w/o major cracks. some scuffs. Where are you located?

  10. Honda sourced its panniers from Givi, but the mounting "design" may ve specific for Honda. I dont know.
  11. On the 4th gen (never owned a 3rd gen) this switch is located under the tank, so unlike the VF500F's (which is on the LHS of the tank and has ON//OFF/RES), you only switch the 4th Gen's to OFF if you want to remove the tank. NRP in the UK sells https://nrp-carbs.co.uk/shop/index.php?route=product/search&search=vfr750 The inlinle "strainer" you could replace with an external filter, or leave it out altogether.
  12. My 4th Gen's collector box had a weld "split" when I got her a few years ago. Applied some Gun Gum exhaust paste and it held well, till recently. So I McGyvered something else... 2-component metal paste once the rains stop, I will rattle can the lot black again.
  13. Am at a used mc/spares fair in Italy this weekend. 99.8% Italian mc but I spotted this dog...
  14. Memore for speed... No matter what I tried, on a flat road, no taliwind, she would simply refuse to go over 200KMH (on GPS). 196 and that was it VFR750 246 RC51 285 1953 Gilera 91
  15. Welcome to VFRD from across the pond Bought my 1986 back in 2015, sold her this year with 100k+ km on it. 60k+ of which by me Used as commuter and long trips alike. I keep a blog here of my VF500 (and other bikes), so have a loooong scroll... Before spending any more sheckels, lift the cam covers and inspect the cam lobes and followers. You had a VF500 before, so you know Honda upgraded the 86 (bigger oil pump, line bored cam journals) after their initial VF750 etc failures. But, if your has survived running so far, good chance itsa good one. No fan of the paint scheme on yours, but you it looking at the fireplace while poking the fire eh?
  16. Winterization time has come for the MV.... Drained the carbs, that's all No squatters allowed... 🙂
