  1. I think this is my third post in three years. I work a lot and, although my main bike has been (and still is) a Kawasaki Ninja 1000, I still have my old Honda. Anyhow, I know this has been a common problem on 6th gen VFRs so hopefully somebody can give me a quick and easy answer to my question. After cutting off the connectors, I plan on using heat shrink self-solder connectors to connect the wires. The yellow wires you see appear to be 12-14 gauge while the black ones appear to be a thicker 10-12 gauge (you can't see the black ones in this pic but they're on the opposite side of the yellow ones, i.e. going into the other connector). Can somebody please recommend the right (and high quality) connectors I can buy at Lowe's or Home Depot? Thank you.
  2. @DannoXYZ I took a close look at the front left caliper and everything looks okay. Maybe it's because the left side doesn't have this bracket. Thanks for everyone's input. I've already ordered the sub-assembly (see attached diagram) from a local dealership and was told it should arrive in 3-5 business days. After taxes it came out to $137 (that's not so bad).
  3. For starters, I very seldom visit this website anymore because my primary bike is now a Kawasaki Ninja 1000 (and has been for a couple years). Anyhow, please take a look at these pictures and let me know what you think. Do you think it's possible that part of the brake caliper somehow broke off and that's the reason for the gap? The front left caliper doesn't have this problem but, as for the one on the right, the pictures tell the story. This is an '02 non-ABS VFR800. Thank you.
  4. Can you please be more specific in terms of what I should do? I can change spark plugs, air filters, brake pads, etc. but when it comes to electrical issues, I don't know all that much.
  5. I've got an '02 VFR that I very seldom ride anymore because I bought a Kawasaki Ninja 1000 last year. The VFR won't start and I have reason to believe it has something to do with the starter/stop switch (part 3 in the attached diagram). I was in the process of replacing it when I got stuck on how to remove the two cables (parts 1 and 2 in the attached diagram). Does anybody know where I can find instructions on how to replace this part? What was happening is every time I pressed the starter button, I would sometimes have to press it several times before the engine started. Now, no matter how many times I press it, it won't start. Thank you.
  6. Thanks for verifying that, Grum.
  7. I'm perfectly OK with buying a used chain. In fact, the chain I've got on the bike now is one I bought used a number of years ago (with only 2k miles on it) and I've since put a good 25k-30k additional miles on it. No joke. https://www.ebay.com/itm/293617146663?ul_noapp=true
  8. Hi Mohawk, Thank you for your donation of 25.00 USD. We look forward to improving the forums with your donation. Thanks VFRDiscussion
  9. @ Mohawk - Thank you for your offer. It's 3 series (with the luxury package) in imperial blue. It looks identical to the photo attached to this post. Can you please PM me your address? @ Dutchy - Thank you for your offer. Since Mohawk was the first to reply, I'm going to take him up on his offer. If the dealership, for whatever reason, is unable to ship the part to Great Britain, I'll certainly reach out to you.
  10. I don't visit this forum much anymore because I work a lot of hours and simply don't have time to ride. Anyhow, there's a certain accessory I've been trying to find for my car. Although I have a late model car, BMW discontinued this accessory and I have been unable to find it anywhere here in the United States. The good news is I was able to locate this part at a dealership in Mertingen, Bavaria, Germany. The bad news is they will only ship it to countries in the European Union. Is there a European member of VFRdiscussion.com that will allow me to have this part shipped to them and then they can turn around and ship it to me? I will, of course, compensate you for this. As you can see from the link below, it's a black/brown handbrake leather piece. It's relatively small and doesn't weigh much. Thank you. https://www.langer.de/net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=60533&Itemid=1438#
  11. Although it never occurred to me to use a zip tie, it did occur to me to use an X pattern with electrical tape. I did not test resistance as I don't have the right tool for that (I think it's OK, though). Thank you both for your replies.
  12. Here's the deal: A) Sometimes the fuel pump doesn't prime when I try starting my bike, or B) The fuel pump primes (allowing me to start the bike), but then the engine sometimes cuts off once it's running I isolated the problem and determined it's a loose wiring connection. In the top picture, it's the white connectors between the green plastic piece and the red wire (the bottom pic is simply a close-up). What is a simple fix for this? Would wrapping electrical tape nice and tight around the two pieces be OK?
  13. God bless you, brother. You will GREATLY be missed. MotoGP World Champion Nicky "The Kentucky Kid" Hayden. RIP.
  14. And a couple more from earlier this summer. Denver, Colorado. Cheyenne, Wyoming.
  15. I haven't posted here in a while, so here we go. All of these pictures were taken within the past three weeks. Cincinnati, Ohio Louisville, Kentucky Indianapolis, Indiana Columbus, Ohio Cleveland, Ohio Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Home of the SIX TIME SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS PITTSBURGH STEELERS! Chicago, Illinois. Chicago's skyline is so massive, it was difficult to capture it in one picture. A small part of downtown Chicago. I obviously didn't take this picture, but the red dot is approximately where my motorcycle was in the previous picture.
