  1. From the album: Previous bikes...

Now, this bike I picked up in 1998 for 2.5 times more than the Hurricane, it was 5.6 times sexier, 7.8 times more reliable, and got treated 143 times better, promise!

  2. I would tape some optical grade haze or skylight filter over that rig, just so as not to pock up the lens. you could even use one of those crap 38mm or 24mm videocam filters, they are probably about 15 bucks at Ritz or something. My 2 cents..
  3. +1 on the fact that you'll just go nuts obsessing about your bike. I know the feeling, my car was badly vandalized twice in 10 months, once while parked in my secured apartment garage. It made me sick for weeks thinking about it. Then, two weeks ago, some schmuck markered up my buddy's bike. Mine was under cover, 20 feet away and left unmolested. But now I'M worried about it As to the weapon situation, well, this might get this topic too hot, but...trust me, having access to one and judicious use (plus "catching" somebody in the act) are all different things. I figure it's more for the eventual earthquake that will hit LA and the ensuing pandemonium. So, my advice is don't obsess on that one either Bikes, thankfully, are somewhat cheap. It's not a 45k car we're talking about. I hope some of my reasoning helps put your mind at ease
  4. Everyone posted photos, but I can't see anything, all these black bikes are too damn stealthy!!! :goofy:
  5. US D.O.T. regs require amber side reflectors up front, red reflectors at back. You'll see especially poor implementation of this on some European cars that are exported to the US...on some older cars like VWs, etc. they are just screwed on the body/bumpre.Newer cars hide these reflectors in the "pulled back" headlight shrouds, as well as taillights housings that wrap around the sides. But, apart from the D.O.T. there's nothing stopping one from simply unscrewing the little L-tabs that mount those reflectors on the N.A. models And the N.A. OEM bags look crummy with the mounted reflectors, too Clear and silver look great together  nice job.
  6. Hah, the dreaded disc lock nailed me once, at the local College Taco Bell. 1989 Hurricane, I dropped it HARD. The local vagabond helped me get it upright. I felt very equal to that man, at that point in time. Lessons learned.
  7. NV2L8, We met before, I think? Either the Tech Day at Steve's, or one of the SoCal flaf rides. Good to see you around. Regarding the hot surge, well I have an '06 so admittedly our bikes are a little different there. But, my surging problems pretty much disappeared after about 5k on the bike....though you've probably put far more on it? I don't know what else to offer besides that...
  8. whoa, look at that clutch cover, what the hell kind of wipeout was THAT? Was the rider's helmet/mouth full of dirt as well? :goofy:
