  2. I had a set of low mount microns on my SuperHawk when I sold it. They were black fading to red. Anyway, that finish on them is amazing. I though they would be a bitch to keep clean but it was one of the easiest finishes and it never stained from the chain spooge or road grime. Nice product. :goofy:
  3. The 3rd gen had a big collector box. The 4th gen doesn't. And neither have cats.

  5. Yeah, you definitely want to protect them. I went through this with a polished frame/swingarm on my SuperHawk. I got a two bottle metal polish/sealant system for about $40 that worked OK. Clear powdercoating is a great idea. That will push the total cost past chroming but it will be lighter.
  6. Chroming is WAY better than polishing when it comes to upkeep. Polishing is WAY better than chrome when it comes to unsprung weight. Pick your poison.
  7. I believe the FoodTV series, Feasting On Asphalt, feature those swinging grills on their trip, IIRC.
  8. DUDE! Are your referring to the ones I sold you a few years ago? Do you mean to tell me that you never ever put them on? You lazy sonuva.......... :goofy: As the originator of this mod  , I've always wondered what kind of gains it made besides a faster revving engine and louder exhaust. At the 2003 VFRevolt, Baileyrock and I did some rollons. I had the catless headers installed along with a tfi box and bafflectomied stock mufflers. We did a few 2nd gear rusn and we were about even so I thought the better sound and lighter weight were the chief benefits of the mod. It was months later that I realized I'm limp wristed sissy boy when it comes to a roll on. I only roll it to about 7 or 8/10th's throttle. DOH!!! Kinda' like a biological rev limiter. If we would have switched bikes, I believe Kevin would have walked on me good but the thought didn't cross my mind to swap since we are about equal weight and there were too many good roads to ride.

Love the jacket (I have one) but get some mesh overpants. They are no more hot than just wearing jeans plus you can add real armor to them.
  12. Taxi drivers around the world may swear by those beads but not me. Got a corbin on it now! That reminds me, I need to send them back in for a full refund (why I tried 'em in the first place). Now, if I can just find 'em........

Had a 94 back a few years ago and just picked up this homeless specimen. Needs lot's of work, check out the fork angle, but nothing I can't handle.

I added another image of this bike. It's at the beginning of this particular photo-strip.

Another angle. You can see the 98 5th gen header a little better. This was a great sounding system and the only one that I know of. I sold it to a VFRd member a couple of years ago.

Yes, this was a custom exhaust I made up; combo vtec/termi pipe. I loved the sound of them and they were, of course, lighter and cooler running in the temp dept. LOL, at the screwdriver comment. Yeah, it does kinda' look like one from that angle.
