  1. I would imagine that it would be a fairly straight forward swap. The only thing that I can see posing any problems is that most controls have a locating pin in them. This helps them keep their respective angle on the bar, as well as prevents them from rotating forward/aft, inboard/outboard. Also, the wiring or electrical connector may be a little different, but that is also an easy fix, providing you have the wiring schematic to both the controls and the VFR.
  2. I wouldn't bother getting new ones, as the same thing will eventually happen. Just remove the existing ones, and call it a day.
  3. Happy Birthday to Dutchy, aka the King in the US...Dutchy is very good at being in 2 places at the same time!!! http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2016/Dec/161231krbirthday.htm
  4. Thanks for that!!! Let us know what you think of the RC, and you have been on a bike with wave rotors before, although it was only running on 3 of the 4 cylinders at the time.....How did the little jaunt around the car park go?
  5. That was an epic trip!!!
  6. Very nice, and the price looks decent to, go for it!!!
  7. One day I will have a complete one, hopefully in Silver, or even better, the white European scheme. I already own a partial RC, you know where my tail section came from!!!
  8. Ok, here's what I think. The RC-51 is still a sought after bike. If you could talk them down to 8k with fixing the issues you mentioned, or 7500k without fixing the issues, I'd do it, but that's just me.
  9. You know that I'd buy it and change the fairings.......I did import Canadian fairing into Germany after all.....and I still want an SP-2!!!
  10. Good luck with the settlement, hopefully you get what you hope for. The front sprocket cover looks familiar.....
  11. What gauges do you have mounted up? They look pretty nice!
  12. Will the NC35 Race Rads fit the 4th Gen VFR? They look similar, but they may be narrower, not sure, just a guess.
  13. What is wrong with your current radiator? If it doesn't leak, keep it installed until you find what you want. Something is bound to turn up eventually!
  14. You might want to see if a radiator shop in your town can either repair your existing radiator, or fabricate you a new one. I know there are shops that specialize in making custom radiators, something to consider. But as far as any existing rads fitting the VFR, I really can't say.
  15. Well, at least now you know, and you know what they say about knowing. It's 1/2 the battle. Sorry, couldn't resist. Hopefully you'll find an ECU. They are out there, it just all depends on how much you're willing to pay. Hopefully the junk yard will have what you need.
  16. see if the 3rd and 4th gen ECU's are interchangeable. Also check eBay, as that is a decent source of inexpensive parts. A new one is rather expensive, so you might also want to check a bike breaker/junk yard.
  17. Al I get is a band when I type that in. Is that what I'm looking for?
  18. Tried to find your page on FB, something else came up when I pasted SuMoCyCo into the search bar. I like what you've done to your VFR. They are very adaptable, if you have the time, patience and creativity. I have lopped about 20 kilos off of mine from the things that I did to it, and she also handles so much better now. She is currently torn apart as I'm having the frame and swing arm powder coated flat black. That will contrast nicely with my silver fairings. I have also bored out the motor with some custom pistons, and installed a slipper clutch from Sigma Performance. I really can't wait to ride it when the work is all completed, but that is still a month or so away. Nice work, on yours, keep it up!!!
  19. I had the same issue during a track day at Spa a few years ago. I was the ECU. If you have not downloaded a Clymer or Honda manual for your motorcycle, I believe that you can find them in the download section of this forum. An easy way to verify that it is the ECU, is to get a donor ECU from another VFR (same generation) and swap it out. Yes, the manual will take you through all the troubleshooting steps, and it is rather easy, but you need a good multi meter, and the manual. Swapping out the suspected bad ECU for a known good ECU is the easiest and quickest way to verify that it is the ECU. If it is the ECU, you will not get ANY spark, I know this for a fact, as I tried to compression start my VFR going down the paddock at Spa, and it wouldn't crank at all. Trust me on this! Hopefully this helps.
  20. InterMot should be coming up, as well as Motorbeurs, seems like a good tme to go looking, just in case an SP-2 isn't available...
  21. As Honda likes to reuse parts (other companies do this too, keeps costs down) I do not see why they wouldn't fit. One can always test fit a set if available, and see if they work, before going to a more permanent solution.
  22. dark side of the canals...wish you were vfr...shine on you crazy 8 spoke...
  23. Does that mean she'll be a trans-gendered VFR, or will that just require a name chage to the politically incorrect "whiteslut"? My VFR is waaaaay beyond all that!
  24. One thing you might want to consider, if you haven't already is tire availability for a 16 inch rim. If you were to raise the forks in the triple clams a little, that'll quicken up your steering. Looks good with the 8 spoke out back!
  25. Not that I remember. I had to order a longer shifter rod from Sato Racing, and turn the rear brake master cylinder 180 degrees to fit, but that's because of the exhaust I'm running, and a few of the other mods I've done to my VFR. They weren't hard to mount, and offer a good range of adjustability. The knurled foot pegs are nice and grippy!!!
