  1. Part exchanged it...
  2. I had one stick at 23k mi, changed both at that point
  3. Replaced mine at 22k miles, one seemed to be sticking. I got a hell of a clatter come on suddenly within the first 0.5mi, stopping & restarting cleared it, it happened a second time a few days later so changed both but also fresh oil and new filter. The oil & filter had only covered 2k mi. Been ok since
  4. Nope, pic was taken from below
  5. @@Grum No short runs but I'm not the first owner, bikes done 17k mi. Someone suggested it's a drain hole & on closer inspection it seems like it's there by intent. It's a noticeable blow both by sound and feel and I'm certain that's it's not always been this way.
  6. OEM exhaust on my 2017 model has a hole in the tapered section after the collector box and sods law it's only a week away from the MOT. I'll need to replace so looking for something that is road legal, compatible with OEM panniers and doesn't require remapping, type approval for Europe would be a bonus but not a prerequisite. Akrapovic is more than I want to pay so looking at SC Project & Delkavic. The SC has the added bonus of EU type approval but comes with added taxes for import, Delkavic titanium is quite nice but comes with UK approvals only. Anyone any other recommendations?
  7. So on reciept of a new owners manual it seems the scheduled valve inspection is now 24k mi as opposed to the 16k I was advised by the dealer......
  8. Valve checks completed by Vertu Honda in Nottingham at 16,200 miles, all found to be within spec. I've also a new owners manual in the post.
  9. I'm planning on having the checks done at 16k. My rational for this is that I will need it doing once during the time I'm likely to own the bike , and in doing it sooner I'll avoid any potential pitfalls and having the service stamp at the recommended interval will remove any excuse an eventual buyer may use to beat the price down. I'll be having the service done sometime in the next couple of months.
  10. Manual for my 2017 is the same, it's a printing error. Speaking to my local Honda dealer it's 16,000 miles, they quoted £550 for the full service inc. valve checks.
  11. Hi, Looking at buying a VFR 800 moving up from a 2008 GSX650F, just wondering if there's anything I need to be aware of. There's two in local dealers, 2017 with 15000 miles on the clock and a 2018 with 9500,. The latter is £500 more, the former has a quickshifter. I'm told the 16k service is a big one. Thanks for any advice, Dave
