  1. I'm surprised at the $1,000-$1500 prices, this is for the vfr with literally 32 original miles? I might as well keep it at that point haha I have the clear title as well, I just wanted to see if it was something special because of the low mileage
  2. Help me set a price? 1994 vfr750 32 original miles completely stock nearly-perfect plastics and tank finish needs tank clean and fuel lines/pump replacement from sitting needs brake lines/flush from sitting rat chewed up rear turn signal/brake light wires rat also pee'd on the clutch cover and ruined that black finish I bought a cleaned carb and installed, as well as a key/ignition/tanklock/helmetlock. It's been in my garage as I was slowly working to restore it but I'm moving and need to sell it, just don't want to sell myself short. Thanks!
  3. I have had a 1st, 4th, 5th, and 6th gen vfr. I now have two 4th gens. The reason? Carbureted bikes seem to be the smoothest, easiest to work on. The bodywork is the most beautiful of all vfr's in my opinion- just look at those vents and scoops! I also love the analog gauges, the analog temp gauges brings a lot of smiles from friends that haven't seen one before. One performance oriented mention from the 4th gen is they do not have a catalytic converter, and a minimal collector box. Although it's nice to have fuel injection sometimes, and imo easier to tune, there's something to be said to keep a carbureted bike running properly on the road in the years where we have traction control, ride by wire throttles, and "wheelie control" lol
  4. There are a couple of different ways of doing this. When I had my 5th gen I had a little converter ring for h4 bulbs where you snip the two nubs on the bottom and put the ring on it. There is also a way to use a coat hanger I read about by bending the bottom tabs and sticking the coat hanger wire in them I will be taking a dremel to the housing to open up the properly spaced h4 nub holes probably tonight. Would rather just do it the permanent way and not have to worry about it again.
  5. Interesting, because the seller claimed that they were top quality british made signals. Definitely raised a brow when I received tracking info! I hope Thurn adds oem-style mesh/foam on the outside to better fit the signals in, because my fronts are not quite as perfect as my OCD self would like them to be. I might just have to add the material myself and see if I can properly fit it then. Will be posting another thread on the LED headlight install when they come in tomorrow, and I just scored an 8 spoke wheel on fleabay as well ....I think by now I could have afforded a used modern ducati of some sort what with all the upgrades to the viffer!
  6. Nice, making me miss my 5th gen! I purchased this kit according to the good amount of reviews and great return policy, we'll see how it turns out :) I will likely be looking for another rear facing brake light as the light is hard to see during the day
  7. Hello all, I figured I would share this with my fellow vfr riders :) I purchased the clear signals for front rear and brake light from a british company. They claimed it to be british made, but I noticed it came out of Germany. Not sure about that one. Putting that aside, I'm pretty happy with the rear end now, but dissatisfied with the front product- it doesn't seem to fit right and it didn't come with LED's, instead what I got was two amber bulbs with single terminals which wouldn't fit my oem 2 terminal sockets. From what I know Europe doesn't allow for running lights so they don't use the second terminal. The rear is nice and bright , but during the sunny day is rather hard to see as expected against the clear/white housing. I wired in a generic electronic flasher relay to stop the hyperflashing and bought a JDM Astars LED pair for the front. These are white running lights with amber turn signal option. The way I figured I'm allowed to have front facing white lights, and they do illuminate the front very nicely. The only gripe I have with these is it takes a half second to 1 second for them to illuminate after using turn signals or just turning the ignition on. I also installed a generic flasher for the brake light that I've used for a while and it works fine. I emailed the seller letting them know the front needs work but the rest seem alright. If I could have it my way I would have bought the clear housings only for front and rear signals and brake, and reused all of the oem sockets and got some LED's of my choice as you have more options that way, and the price tag would likely be $100 or under rather than almost $300 I have some LED headlight conversions coming in mid-week and will update you all on how that turns out. I can't stand the halogen yellow with the white LED running lights on the front end, so it will have to go!
  8. Depends on how much you love your bike I love my '97 so much I was willing to spend a grand on some good condition fairings, ended up finding a 32 mile '94 with mint fairings for a little bit more. Maybe looking for another vfr to put in the garage might be cheaper than looking for fairings ;)
  9. You can count me in for one, maybe two as I have two 4th gens in the garage.
  10. Hello all, Just wanted to drop by and say I haven't ever done any more riding than about 2 hours of saddle time at a single ride, but I'm looking forward to this year's TMAC (which I also just learned about), and plan on prepping my bike accordingly for spending some extended time with my viffer. Houston, TX here btw
  11. Odd, I ran my fuel gauge all the way down to the bottom, the fuel light never went on and I just refuelled because I chickened out and didn't want to get stranded ;)
  12. Mine used to have a few, but then I balanced the carbs last weekend and now I have none to report :)
  13. My thoughts exactly. Going to have to hunt down a good example of a 5th gen (used to have one) and maybe a 3rd gen as well. I've owned an '85 vf700, an '01 800, an '06 800, and now a '94 and a '97 750 :)
