FYI. Americade time again. www.tourexpo.com for more info.
  2. I too agree with this. I also wonder how close the calibration of the gage is to correct. We all know the speedos are notoriously off. I would submitt that the temp gages are off a bit also. My 98 never sees the temps mentioned here. I put a Scotts Performance oil filter on a few years back and it droped the temp. about 10 degrees. The filter has much more flow than a paper element filter. So it's like water and oil cooled.

Stopped there many times. The old B-49 is cool too.
  4. Yep!! Been there. Done that. Years ago. Up around Randolf Vermont. Man it was spooky, the wood under the tire seemed really slippery.

  16. I did something a little different. I removed the lid completely. Plugged the control valve for the flapper with a rubber cap. Fabricated a custom filter with a K&N for a GM V6. Bigger filter area than a BMC. More direct air flow to the intake funnels. I have no issues with hesitation or flat throttle responce. I had a custom map done at an authorized tuneing center ( PC II ). After the mod. I need to take photos and add them to my gallery.
