Hey Ron, I am living NW Houston but I am not highly active on the Forum. Use it mainly to see where the rides take place and then go if works allows. Planing to go to Arkansas and then surely 3 Sisters coming up. Jay
  2. this newcomer just signed up!
  3. Uuuum, let me ask my 85 year young Dad who still rides a CBR 600F back in the Netherlands for 25,000 miles a year. I was infected at age 4, and now ride all over the USA, 52 years later. Or is it irresponsible to deliberately make your self unhappy in the presence of kids aqnd show them you give up what you love? "If you do not have a dream, you might as well die" George Foreman at the occassion of becoming world champion heavyweight, age 45.
  4. Racer944, i am having the exact same problem with my 2013 VFR1200, can't find it either and Honda dealers so far have no clue. Other idea: I have just been told that new iphone technology lets you scan the paint and then download it on a PC to to find the nearest best paint. I am chasing it, will post when i find it.
  5. JZH, hail to you! I like it, a lot. The little rubber insert RAM sold a few years ago drove me to writing them a email about their absolute Mickey Mouse design about two years ago. I kindly pointed out how almost all bicycle mount their steers in my native Holland with a simple cone, showed them a picture of what my 84 year young dad in Holland machined for me in his workshop. Finally, years later, RAM came out with two cones types 17-21mm and 22mm and up and they both work. I wish to commend you for your good work, very elegant solution, and for not accepting the absolute crap RAM made at the time.
  6. Marsman99 is right on, clowns like this set us back for years. We had the same in Houston on I45 a few month ago, press all over it. These kids were wearing cool T-shirt only, so if they hit gravel or oil one day at least they will be off the road. Too bad they'll mess up there equally silly girlfriends but also saddle up their families with health care for years to come.
  7. One of the best rides you have ever done. I do it on a fairly regular basis. The 3 sisters are great roads, but certainly also take the 16 between Kerrville and Medina. Some website warned that this road is only suitable for experienced riders, so heck, i needed to know. Well, it is a blast, not hard at all, gorgeous winding, good view, scenery is great. I guess every road becomes a challenge if you have more then 80HP and no brains. Just ride. It is gorgeous.
  8. Yes, had a Russell All Day on my 2006 VFR800. One Word: Awesome. Rode for days without any issues, did not even weant to get of the seat during a tank stop. Looks a liddle odd on the bike at first, but not too bad. Once you sit on it, or in it, all your worries about how it look vanish. First had a Corbin, a waste of money. Russell for me, ALL-DAY.
  9. thank you so much, this is fantastic
  10. It will have to be Sargent cause it definetely is not Corbin I can tell you after now 2000miles. I had to sit on a sweatshirt to make it back home from the Ozark to Texas to save my spine and my ass (one day ride). Returned my seat to Corbin and asked to soften the foam, which they did for free and did make a marginal improvement. From talking to my tourbike buddies in Texas, Sargent is the marginal better seat. I did own a Corbin from 2003-2005 on my last CBR600F in Europe which was a devine seat, but Corbin changed something somewhere. Not content with the marginal difference, and wanting to move in to the IBA rally, I asked Russell all-Day to make me one. Sure, they look a little bit like a John Deere tractor seat , but nobody sees that once you are on the bike. Yes, it does cost more, I paid $780 as opposed to $460And then, your butt and your back is in heaven.... for 1000miles a day, I step off the bike and am still laughing. WHAT a DIFFERENCE !
