  1. Not to flog a dead horse but I did find a picture of the aluminum one after it gave up the ghost...
  2. So I spoke with SF today. He said if people want in for another batch, please feel free to PM the both of us and let us know, we’ll put you on the list...
  3. Oh yeah, in regards to the K&N air filter recommendation, it was selected as the one used for the Dyno tuned bike, so we have a known working sample. No other airbox or intake mods were done on any of the bikes as far as I recall. Note however that K&N has two models of the air filter BUT both have the same part number (Go figure?!). One of them however has a much larger square inch coverage with the filter material. Not sure how to order and get the latter one other than possibly call K&N directly.
  4. All 8 Gen headers have been sold and I believe all but maybe 1 of the 5/6 Gen headers. SF has more details on the 8 Gen fitment, as he was working with the builder and had use of fellow member samuel’s bike. That being said, most of the aftermarket cans link pipe may have to be expanded to a 51mm ID , depending on what bike you have I.e. 6/8 Gen vs. 5 Gen. There’s also some brake line routing and heat shield fussing you’ll have to deal with on the 8 Gen. I thought SF posted the little caveats and idiosyncrasies of the 8 Gen setup but he’ll have to answer that. Not sure how this pandemic will affect any immediate future builds but I can say the the builder was open to a smaller number in order to start the next batch. I haven’t spoken with SF in a while in regards to even entertaining another batch but at the time we did speak, we were both open to doing it again.
  5. My verdict is that it didn't seem to last any longer than the plastic ones. I already replaced mine, probably should have written down the mileage but alas I don't think I did, sorry. I did think that I could use a bolt the same size as the one that holds the sprocket, to act as a mould and use some JB weld to rebuild the inner part of it but kind of gave up on that idea. I also thought of doing the same thing with the plastic ones using some plastic epoxy but again, probably more work than it's worth. TLDR: Didn't last any longer than the plastic OEM one for me.
  6. That was my fault, the FedEx web site auto-filled your address in and I thought I had double checked before clicking the "ship" button. Sorry guys, I'll try better next time!
  7. Wow! sounds like quite a few of you have received your goods already. Have to say I got scolded the other day on Facebook when I posted about these being done and that I was helping get them boxed up. I was accused of being HIGHLY irresponsible for even leaving the house, let alone meeting up with someone. Apparently me shipping out "crappy" headers (the term they used) was a higher priority to me than the safety and well being of others. I retorted in my usual sarcastic tone but had to put on a serious face and explain the entire situation. It probably didn't help that I had said I ignored the "stay at home order". Which at the time was, you can go outside and walk/walk your dog, visit public places but no gatherings of more than 10 or more, maintain good distance and cleanliness discipline. All of which were complied with. Heck, I even brought my own packing tools (tape gun, gloves, etc.) so that SFDownhill and I would not cross contaminate. This was in addition to keeping 6 feet or more away from each other as well as being outdoors! Anyway, not a big deal, no one was harmed in this venture, everyone is getting their stuff and best of all I can now relax and know that I made some VFR folks very happy! I will add I did have a similar post here to the one I had on FB but decided to delete it, I'd rather not make any "enemies" on a world class top notch forum! Cheers, D
  8. Well PMs with tracking numbers have been sent out to all those expecting a header or headers. Please PM me if you were expecting a PM with a tracking number but did not receive it. CHEERS!
  9. OK folks, my bad but I'm sure I will be forgiven shortly. I was supposed to update everyone who bought headers yesterday that their package was dropped off at FedEx and should be on its way to them. Unfortunately this applies only to the domestic shipments, as we use the USPS for international shipments (much cheaper) but getting to the Post Office has been a challenge (see below). Rest assured we will do our very best to get ALL shipments out this week. I'm multi-tasking at the moment, as I'm working from home, like I typically do ironically, but for some reason today and yesterday got real busy with conference phone calls, emails and support calls. So I may not get you a PM with your tracking number until later today. That being said, stay safe and healthy and let's hope this pandemic will blow over soon! Cheers, D
  10. Well, you may think that shipping to Australia is too expensive, there are a few companies, and I can say now that we have shipped to Oz a few times already! Go to https://www.myus.com/ and sign up with an account and they will give you a US address that we can ship to for much less than direct to you. The previous folks we sent to, the US shipping charge was under $100, If I recall correctly. What it cost from there to you, that is something you would need to investigate. But as an example of shipping direct from us to you, it's in the realm of $600-$800, so the savings is huge.
  11. Well I know it's feasible, as that's where I first saw the left side center stand stop, it was on my friends 2001. Question is, what's involved? I have no doubt you have a handle on this!
  12. For starters, you will want to reach out to Sebspeed (a forum member here) and obtain a center stand stop. That is, unless you want to remove your center stand or have another option. Secondly, the exit pipe of the headers diameter is 2" O.D. so if your Staintune mid-pipe opening is smaller than that, you'll want to take it to a muffler shop and have them expand the end to 2" I.D. to slip fit onto the headers. If the mid-pipe opening is lager than 2" I.D., you can either use a gasket or a shim to make up the for gap. For my 5 Gen with a 2 Bro high-mount can, I ended up using an aluminum shim that was 1/16 inch thick by 2" wide and just made a cylinder out of it and slipped it over the header, slipped the mid-pipe over that and it works like a charm!
  13. Yes we do. I'll send you a PM with the info on how you need to proceed.
  14. SF and I were texting one another on Monday while he was meeting with Wade. Looks like he’s moving forward ordering the parts and pieces. Since SF was the one who last spoke with Wade, I’ll let him give the details as far as timelines and such. Note that his and my work schedules are pretty full, so updates may be late evening or near end of the week. If not for having to wait for my client to show up, I’d probably not be lurking here right now. End of year always seems to through a wrench in the works but we’re looking good here now!
  15. Send him and CC me on a PM with your quantity along with your shipping info. We'll get you a total and get the ball rolling.
  16. Sorry for the lack of response, both sfdownhill and I were busy all weekend. That being said, the cut off was a little while back but it's possible that there could be another run, all depends on how the builder feels after this one.
  17. I believe that Wade was given the quantity and may have ordered the material but I’ll have to defer to Sfdownhill, as he’s the one that handles that side of things.
  18. If I recall correctly, the 5/6 Gens will have 3 bungs, 2 in the OEM locations and 1 after the collector. The builder decided it would be easier and more effective time wise just to build them all the same. SF will have to chime to confirm but I believe the 8 Gen will have 1 in the OEM location with the same bung size (12mm) and 1 18mm located post collector.

  20. SF and I are going to go over all the PMs and deposits tomorrow, please add me to your PM so I am part of the correspondence. Cheers, D
  21. Based on the current orders taken, I think we just made the minimum. SF and I are going to pow wow tomorrow and make sure we have everyone’s deposit accounted for and ensure we have everyone’s order covered. We’ll be posting up a summary to show who we have received deposits from and what they placed an order for.
  22. I believe the current price is $830.00 plus shipping. This actually applies to 5&6 Gens too.
