  1. If memory serves me correctly, a former member ('Recalcitrance') had one of the adjustable type dog bones and it broke while she was riding home. Fortunately, she came out OK but did stop traffic on the '101' freeway for a spell. I do recall her posting about it, but this was before the server had to be rebuilt, so not sure if the post was recovered. I suppose if one was to use an adjustable dog bone to figure out their preferred length and then have someone like Seb build a solid unit with the measurements that worked, I definitely see that as viable. Personally, I'd be worried the same issue that happened to Recalcitrance could/would happen to me, especially if I was doing aggressive track or canyon riding. All that said, I would have to reach out to her and ask if she recalls who made the one that she had, as to avoid them as a possible supplier.
  2. Correct, you use the spacers of the bike your putting the wheel on. So, on a 5 Gen with 6 Gen wheel, you use the 5 Gen spacers. The same applies to a 6 Gen with a 5 Gen wheel, use the 6 Gen spacers. BTW, the axles are different too, so make sure the axle is for the respective bike.
  3. I've swapped wheels between my 01 and 09 with no issues. The big difference is the axle spacers. They are different sizes between the different generations. Most likely due to the different fork diameter and triple tree fork spacing. I which I had a front wheel to offer you, but right now I have an "overage" of rear wheels, which can be swapped too.
  4. Hi Duc2V4, Thank you for your donation of 100.00 USD. We look forward to improving the forums with your donation. Thanks VFRDiscussion
  5. Having my own medical issues to deal with this year, I can sympathize, hopefully you'll have a speedy recovery. Hope you had a good Christmas at least and here's to a healthier and pain free New Year to you! Cheers, D
  6. Abba stand to the rescue! I bought mine a few years ago and have used it for several VFRs (My own plus a few friends) as well as my Ducati. Great kit IMO. Good luck on your rebuild, looking forward to seeing some progress and possibly some ideas. I still plan on building the VFR Lance had planned for us to build together. He too had collected a lot of parts!
  7. Well I flew to Hawaii for my new job orientation, no hiccups there, so I'll keep crossing my fingers. Thanks
  8. Long story short, due to my temporary license suspension because of my seizure and then brain surgery afterward and even though my license was reinstated, AAA is cancelling my insurance coverage. When I spoke with AAA, they have a "blanket" policy of no insurance if license was suspended and/or even reinstated. Nor are you eligible to return to their coverage for at least 36 months! So much for being a member for 27 years huh? Then talking to another service rep, who is there to help find you coverage, it's essentially a different branch of AAA, i.e. insurance partners, so not their main coverage group. When I mentioned I have mostly motorcycles, he said I would have to have separate policies and he then wasn't sure if they could do motorcycles. I then told him, that I will not be using them for insurance anymore and will go to a different insurance agency. This includes my wife as well, as the letter said she could retain the insurance policy but I could not be covered. All of this seems two sided to me, so not going to be dealing with them anymore. Whew! All that said, the reason for this post, I just wanted to see from the US riders, who they are insured with and whether they have any good or bad things to report. Even at that, not sure how the license suspension will affect getting new coverage. Moral of the story, don't have seizures and don't have brain surgery, they'll only punish you for it! 😉 Cheers, D
  9. I'll check what I have and message you if I have a matching unit. Cheers, D
  10. Snap a pic of the ECM sticker showing the numbers, I may be able to provide you a replacement for you. Cheers, D
  11. SOLD Another goodie from sfdownhill's stash. An unknown manufacturer high mount exhaust. It has 2 hangers one near the end of the can and one near the front of the can where it meets the link pipe. My memory is rusty, but I thought this was a Two Brothers exhaust that he replaced the carbon fiber can when he repacked the unit. I'm not 100% on that but it's a pretty nice kit, tempted to keep it for myself. Anyway, asking $250 plus shipping from Anaheim, California. NOTE: Found out from someone who use to sell Micron exhaust systems said this is a Micron. I'll take his word on it but either way, this is a really nice kit.
  12. Thanks brother. Yeah, just attended his memorial service a couple of hours ago. Even though this happened a couple of months ago, it's still hard to believe and to deal with. I know I'll get over it, but man it hit me hard.
  13. So this would be a "re-welcome" to the club, I would say. Either way, Welcome to VFRD!
  14. Selling a "Barn Find". The infamous Wolf Under Tail exhaust for the 5 Gen VFR. I don't have much details on this kit other than I'm not 100% all the parts and pieces to mount it are here. In fact, the under tail piece was given to me by fellow forum member 'vfrcapn', who happened to have the piece.. If you're adventurous and have some mechanical ability, it might be worth grabbing. I do have the installation instructions but would definitely say it will require some ingenuity to get it in place. This is being sold "as-is" but the parts appear to be in good condition. Going to set the price at $600 plus shipping but would be open to negotiations. Shipping would be from Anaheim, CA.
  15. I have a Two Brothers low mount exhaust and link pipe for a 5 Gen VFR. Comes with a special mounting bracket that would replace the right rear passenger foot peg. Otherwise, I believe that the rear foot peg assembly could be used to mount the can to. Comes with springs and exhaust clamp. Asking $175 plus shipping. Shipping would be out of Anaheim, CA.
  16. This is a like new condition Delkevic PR1828 exhaust can and link pipe. It comes with mounting bracket and exhaust clamps. Asking $150 plus shipping. I do not have any details on this other than what you see in the pictures. Shipping would be from Anaheim, CA.
  17. This Pit Bull stand is the fixed handle version but does support swapping the hub pin. The pin currently on the stand is meant for the OEM VFR and OEM NT650 Hawk rear hubs. Asking $100 + shipping. If you're in So Cal you can always swing by and pick up here in Anaheim.
  18. I have up for sale a single sided swing arm stand that has the pin that will fit OEM VFR rear hub or OEM NT650 Hawk rear hub. A few people said it looks like either a Lockhart Philips or a TBR stand but I don't know for sure, but it is very sturdy. Offering it up for $60 + shipping. If you're in So Cal you can always swing by and pick it up here in Anaheim and save money on shipping.
  19. Long story short, I'm sorting through all of the stuff fellow member sfdownhill had left after his passing. I have volunteered to help find new homes for his motorcycles and motorcycle parts to help the family out. I'm still sorting through a lot of stuff and believe me there's a LOT of stuff to go through. So be on the lookout as I will be posting stuff for sale soon, I'm still taking inventory and pictures of what's in my possession. That said, I found a 8 Gen rear wheel and this front wheel that matches the color of said rear wheel, but I do not recognize it, anybody know what bike this front wheel goes to?
  20. I'll look at my OEM 6 Gen seat then. I currently have a Sargent on my bike so I was gauging it on how that one looks in comparison, as it has a storage section underneath to store manual/documents. Thanks guys.
  21. Hey all, I'm going through a bunch of motorcycle stuff that forum member sfdownhill left behind after his passing. I'll most likely be posting stuff for sale for his family, and I know what most of the parts and pieces got to. That said, this seat looks like it might be for a VFR but not 100% sure. I know it's not a 5 or 6 Gen seat, so can any 8 Gen owners confirm it is or it isn't for an 8 Gen? Cheers
  22. When I get back home from my new job orientation, I’ll start to look into this again. Right now l’ll be heading home soon. My plane lands at 9PM tonight then I need to be up and on the road about 4:00A-4:30A to be on the road to Vegas to help get Lance’s stuff brought back to my place in Anaheim. Probably be beat as all get out on Sunday but once I get back to normal hours I’ll be sure to get back on this. Cheers, D
  23. Sorry for the delay, Seb and I did have a discussion about this and threw around some ideas. We were going to follow up on this, as right now though, I have been really busy with work, finishing at one company and starting with another (No break in between). This and some personal things I have to deal with but we haven’t given up on the topic. One idea that Seb had was maybe a key fob, kind of like a dog tag, as a possibility. This way it would be more visible than a header plate, as a plate would require some additional work to put it on the header, plus finding a place to put it where one could see it. Another thought was maybe something to go on the top triple clamp, but again here how to have it mounted. Just some ideas to toss around. I’m also still in the process of helping the family out with all of Lance’s motorcycle stuff, he had quite a lot of it. I’ll be helping clear out his garage and “Moto Shed” and will most likely take possession of some of his bikes to help sell them. This Saturday I’ll be going to his garage and grab the bikes he had there. If he has any VFR goodies, I’ll most likely be posting them up for sale here on the forum. All the money will go to the family.
