  1. I haven't been able to get back down to the workshop :(

We had a double birthday party for 2/3rds of my children this weekend so I had to bake cakes, decorate them, make chocolates, host the party, (this is Friday and Saturday), and Sunday was clean up day.

I hoping to get back to the man-cave this week. I have to pull the rest of the fairings, drain the fuel, check the valves and change the fork oil. Oh, and I have a garage door opener mod, as well as rewire my heated grips and find a better place for my stebel compressor.

I found aluminum rivets, but no stainless rivets. I should probably go to a real HW store rather than home desperate...

  2. I like the mig - how it came out. Looks much better did any of the carbon weave come apart?

Nope, the carbon is untouched. The scotchbrite took off most of the flaky lacquer. The 600 wet paper scuffed up the stuff that was still ok.

I use the VFR for a commuter (much better mileage than the pickup, and heck of a lot more fun too), so it sits in the sun all day. When i got it it was already starting to delaminate. It was time to do it. Easy enough to do, and the flakes really were an eye sore.

I had a little reservation about doing it, but thought since I have the stock exhaust, if everything goes south, I could just put the stocker back on.

  3. That has always bugged me.

If I see someone fondling my baby I usually ask where their car is, so I can go and sit in it.

I usually get the 'wtf'? look. I'm not a big fan of stickers, but I will have one soon that alerts the passer-by to not sit on the vehicle...
