Member Contributer The mailman 259 Posted January 26, 2014 One of my "local goals" is to summit Pike's Peak and Mt. Evans in the same day this summer. Two 14ers in a day should be a challenge. I'll stage out of my parent's Black Forest home just to get a jump on things in the a.m. Gotta start early to avoid afternoon Tstorms! 67 to Deckers, Horsepower Hill, Conifer, Evergreen, Squaw Pass would be the fun way but 25 to 70 to Idaho Springs might be the fastest. hmmmm My winter brain is churning! Member Contributer CasualSwede 57 Posted January 26, 2014 Ambitious! Mt. Evans was slower going, the pavement surface was nowhere near as confidence-inspiring. But still pretty special to be up that high. edit: I forgot to add, I think the route you described is the one we ended up taking, I'm trying my hardest to remember! It's all a blur. Quote Link to comment
