Member Contributer AussieinUSA 8 Posted August 29, 2012 No, you're thinking of Red Rock Canyon which is just West of Las Vegas. Valley of Fire is about 80 miles North of Vegas. Nice shot, North Shore road is fantastic now its paved all the way to Overton. Quote Link to comment
Member Contributer dadofseven 35 Posted August 30, 2012 Red Rock and Valley of Fire are both very similiar, but about 80 miles apart. VOF is about 65 miles east of Vegas on I-15, and Red Rock is about 20 miles west of Vegas on Highway 160. Park Entrance fee for both places. Red Rock is a Scenic Route with speed limits at 35. Valley of Fire is also a Scenic Area, but it opens up to the North Shore road back to Vegas. Its newly re-paved, about 60 miles of fast sweepers, and real nice on the scenery. The VFR loves the moderate paced sweepers. On this trip i got stopped in Overton by a Policeman that asked what kind a bike it was, we talked for a bit, he complemented the bike and I was off.
