LoneStar66 Posted July 9, 2021 Posted July 9, 2021 Hi all. Am new to this forum and have a question about my 2002 vfr. While getting the bike ready for maintenance I had to remove the right side peg and heat shield. After removing it and cleaning things up I found I rather like it without the shield. Would this be an issue down the road for potential heat damage to plastics and rubber around the foot brake? Thanks in advance. Here is a pic of my new to me 2002 vfr. pwrcell_consumer_brochure_v12_digital.pdfpwrcell_consumer_brochure_v12_digital.pdf Quote

squirrelman Posted July 9, 2021 Posted July 9, 2021 without the shield the rear brake fluid could get too hot to work. Quote
Member Contributer gig Posted July 9, 2021 Member Contributer Posted July 9, 2021 tou have to take off and wrap the the rear down pipes, crate with heat paint to avoid possible rusting, wrap with 2' titainuim (only" heat wrap, mine runs cooler than with the heat shield. Quote
