Member Contributer V-FORE Posted June 24, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted June 24, 2016 What I did with my fourh gen was to cut out a Manilla folder. I placed it right at the the bolt hole and once I got the correct cut (took a few times) , Used blue tape on the cowl, then placed the cut folder on the cowl marked the arc and cut it out. Just take your time, I was lucky, I had a few cowls and screwed the 1st on up & leaned! Luckily 1 have a givi top box on the 5th gen so no handles...... Member Contributer CHUCK2 Posted June 24, 2016 Author Member Contributer Share Posted June 24, 2016 Thanks for the reply V-FORE. I can't quite picture how that is actually done. Could you provide a pic of your cut cover? And what tool did you use to do the cutting?
Member Contributer VFROZ Posted June 24, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted June 24, 2016 Like this. I did it with a Dremel, but you could do it with a small scrall saw if you needed to, just tape it up and draw what you want to do first, then cut. Make it smaller then you need, file it larger once cut, a bit at a time. You can take more off, you can't put it back.

If I remember correctly I basically held the paper against the plastic the cowl sits on and cut out around the handle and measured from the tab where the franken bolt goes through back to where the cut out starts.... Member Contributer MaxSwell Posted June 24, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted June 24, 2016 Hmmmm? Will a seat cowl add to the aerodynamics for lower E.T.s at the drag strip?
